Numb was the worst feeling -- because there was nothing, really. But then there was anger over being that way and -- well. Everything spiraled from there. Clint knew it. Bucky knew it. And Natasha did too.
But it wasn't fair to ask anyone to feel anything but what they were feeling in the moment, even if those feelings were bad. That wasn't why they were here, to change what was happening. They were simply -- solidarity. Bucky said it in a way that worked better, and Clint was grateful for that.
He didn't let go of Bucky's hand when he moved forward, only tugged him along with him because Clint couldn't fathom letting go, not yet, but he still had to drop heavy down to his knees on the hard wood in front of Natasha. "I'm not into werewolf role-play," he said because he was Clint and Clint always went for the absurd first. It was just how he did. And then, "You're bleeding."
