Despite herself, Irene's lips tweaked ever so slightly upward as he went straight for his phone. Not for the first time she felt her own little pang of longing for an internet connection, following by a much sharper spike of anxiety about not have her phone. It was highly unlikely (one might say impossible) that anyone would break into it now, given the new security (read: different master code) she'd put into it, but even if it wouldn't work, there was still something to be said for having it. Even if this particular kind of protection wasn't as useful here as it would be elsewhere.
She was quiet as he stalked around her like a panther, taking in a macro view of the landscape, no doubt analyzing a thousand little details that she'd missed, and waited for him either to ignore or accept her suggestion. And then, instead, he called her on her little behaviors -- fussing -- and her mouth pinched in a scowl that, for just an instant, had a flash of panic behind it.
"No," she said emphatically, though the quick drop of her eyes indicated that the real answer was the opposite, and she huffed hotly. "Tea," she said again, more insistent this time. "Trust me, you're going to need it after what I have to tell you."
