It'd be alright. Steve wanted that, he wanted that for all of them about everything, but especially this. They'd been side by side for so long and Steve didn't know how to be any other way. She was his team, his partner and Steve wasn't willing to give up on that, not ever. He was stubborn, everyone knew that, but he had to be willing to let things go, for both of their own good.
"Yeah, yes," he agreed quickly, because he was lucky she was letting him off easy and Steve recognized that.
There was so much that weighed on him, things he'd never dealt with, things he hadn't even started to. But he wasn't thinking about that then and he nudged her jaw gently with his knuckles to turn her face up so he could press a soft kiss to her cheek. "I'm lucky you put up with me," Steve said with a little smile. "All these dumb men, they should just call you Saint Natasha."
