"I can handle that," She said easily, she certainly responded to both, the same way Storm was about her given name and the one she'd chosen for herself. She could be both very easily, and if that's what he wanted, or if he was just being contrary because he was in a bad mood she didn't mind one way or the other.
She raised an eyebrow at the idea that someone was going to remove him. "Remove you from where exactly?" She wondered, she didn't blame him for being sore about the whole party thing, being written off as a threat when he'd made an offer out of good will, tried to help with the surprise of the thing. She'd have been angry too, but she hoped he knew that she wouldn't let them do anything to him, as far as Kitty was concerned all of the mutants there were under her protection whether they knew it or not.
Lifting her shoulder, Kitty shrugged, "I don't know - he doesn't seem like the one from back home, a little less...." She paused not even sure of the right word for it, a little more focused on the good of them all and a little more considerate of what might come of his actions maybe? "Have you met the little one? He's not so bad." She added. Because sure he might be Tony Stark but he was just a kid, how bad could he be?
Kitty rolled her eyes at him. "That's not why I'm here." She'd already told Storm she didn't think that John was someone they needed to worry about, at least not as a threat, she'd worry about him as a fellow mutant plenty, but that was another story all together. "I don't think you're out to cause trouble, I just wanted to see what you were doing, and make sure you got something to eat too." With Pancho's closed down for the night options were limited to whatever anyone had managed to scavenge already or what was at the party.
