"You are, that doesn't mean you can't play a little catch up." She told him with a small grin, he might have missed some things but he'd been around for their conversation just a couple of days ago.
In wrangling her own plate and the bottles she'd brought with her Kitty had missed the offer of John's own, he was going straight for the hard stuff, she only did that when she was in a truly low place and she wasn't quite there yet.
"What do you think I brought these for?" She said raising the beer she'd brought along with her, showing it off with a little waggle of the bottles in his direction, before she set one on the ground either for herself after she finished the first or for him if he wanted - but considering he had something much stronger she doubted he'd want it.
"I'm not here to convince you of anything," She told him, "I'm not really much in the mood for a party," She admitted too, the last one she'd been to was for her wedding so she wasn't really feeling much in the party spirit, even if the gesture was a nice one. And the last thing any of them needed was her less than happy attitude bringing the night down so here she was with the one person that she knew wasn't interested in partying either.
"But it's always better to be able to share a meal when you can." She added, because it was true and because she thought he could use some company.
