The Birthday Boy + Young Steve
Tony could have gone on a lot longer if he was being honest, he was holding himself back because he had seen the way Steve reacted to the idea that their older selves were together. He didn't want him to start thinking anything about anything, at least not until he'd worked up the nerve to really say it himself.
He'd ripped into the package eagerly and then slower as he parted the tissue paper until he found what lay inside, a piece of art - all of their friends there that they'd left back in the world they'd come from. It was, Tony didn't even know what it was... well he knew literally of course but trying to put words into what he felt having seen it was turning out to be a little more difficult.
"Steve." He said lowly after a moment. "This is perfect." He finished. "Really, I love it." He told him, his voice tight in his throat thick with emotion. It made him miss home, their friends, the life they had left behind, and made him love Steve just a little bit more for giving it to him. This reminder of where they'd come from. "Thank you."
