Lily's world had turned upside down in the space of minutes. She had never dreamed of Peter being the spy. She hadn't want to believe it, still didn't, but it was the only explanation. She couldn't see any of the three men being spies but the proof was undeniable. You couldn't be tortured to give up the location hidden under Fidelus, you had to willingly give up the secret. Taking Harry, she sprinted upstairs to the nursery, Harry in her arms. Placing her beloved son in his crib, she performed the ritual that she had found as an added protection for her son. She had no idea if it would work but it was the least she could do to protect him. She begged and begged for Voldemort to spare Harry but she knew it would be futile.
He raised his wand and was voicing the killing curse when suddenly she was standing in a green field in the middle of what appeared to be an old English village.
Spinning around, she reached into her pocket and found her wand, a comforting weight in her hand. Spinning around again she came to the conclusion she had just forgotten, her mind playing a trick on her. Lily had never expected the after life to look like this.
