The Doctor felt bad seeing Irene clutch her mug as if her life depended on it. She cast a look at Peter, her eyebrows and eyes showing her concern before Peter started to explain the doors. "But you should also be careful and probably don't wanna go alone at first. Peter's right. Don't know what's on the other side sometimes. Could literally be anythin'! But...that's why it's good to have people like Peter here around. Better at protectin' you, if you catch my drift?"
The Doctor put a hand on Irene's shoulder, a gesture of comfort and goodwill. Her voice was lower now, too, but just as earnest. "I know it's a lot. I know that look on your face. I've seen it plenty a times before." Then it dawned on her. Rose. "You should talk to Rose if we can find her! She's like you- regular human from regular Earth. But she traveled with me as one of my friends. If anyone knows how strange it must be for someone from a non-superhero, non-alien world, it'd probably be here, right?" She looked at Peter, hoping she was helping.
"Anyway, we should also find ya a place to stay. Do you have a location on the phone? Or a note? We can help you get settled, find anythin' you need, too. There's Jan's- she's got clothing and small supplies. And Klaus will have some basic food- are you hungry?? Peter makes pizza!"
