America | Kate :: Gifts
The thought of the four of them stomping through the door together was enough to make Kate smile. It was just like old times, except they didn't have to worry about trying to save the world. They could have an adventure, just to have one, or relax and have a pleasant day on a tropical beach. If only they could be so lucky.
Maybe, one of these days.
"Me? Mess with you?" Kate gave her friend a little shove. "Never!" She pretended to look shocked as if she couldn't believe such an accusation. It soon turned into an eye roll and a heavy sigh, her hands up to concede. "Alright, maybe now and then, but only because I half think it's true too." Kate could only smirk when she thought it, but God bless America. Putting up with her shenanigans and loving her despite them. She snuggled against her shoulder, her arms hugging around one of America's. "You're so good to me," she said, starting to pet her. "What's that?" With the quick topic change, she pointed to the bag America had dropped by the door. She was happy to hear America shrugging off the name thing. Good. Not that she thought she was actually caught up on it, but it was a good sign, nonetheless. This place wasn't ideal, but at least they had each other.
