Who: Peter Parker of the 616 & OTA
What: Peter's doin' stuff
Where: Around town
When: Early evening, Monday
Rating: TBD

The sun was setting, the skies awash with the oranges and red native to the dimming horizon. The streams of light coated the clouds above, and lengthened shadows cast from the trees and buildings of the village that Peter was walking through at that moment. It was usually at this time of night, in the cool air, that Peter would be in the upper most high rises of New York, swinging between their massive spires, watching and patrolling the citizens of New York for any dangers. Yet, here, in this small and desolate place he was forced to call home, the city was but a village, the buildings quaint and lacking in any real stature or size. The sounds were muffled and quiet; he could hear birds, the winds, even the rush of water nearby, but there were no shouts or honks, no screeching of tires or roaring of engines. The place was quiet, peaceful, and in that peace Peter felt oddly uncomfortable.

The air was fresh too, smelling of nature rather than garbage and food. That was the one thing about this place Peter could quickly get used to and loved. As he walked through the cooling evening, hands stuffed in the pockets of his jeans, dark black tank worn over his torso, he found himself rather enjoying the smell of this place. The silence, however, was unnerving. He missed the rush of the city in some aspects. The fights, sure, but also the sounds that had become a white noise for him. It made sleeping difficult, and for a man who barely slept anyway, it made this particular night that much more difficult. There was little to patrol, so he wasn't in costume; there weren't high rises, so he wasn't swinging between the buildings; there were no bustling people, so the silence was deafening when he was in bed. So here he was, traipsing through the village at a meandering pace.

He did wonder if maybe missing the action, the fighting, something he was striving always to put an end to, made him a bad person? Of course he didn't want someone to get attacked, mugged, their wallet or purse snatched, but if something like that happened and he could swing after them, save the day, and get that bit of a rush? He'd sure like that part of it. It was an odd and annoying feeling to have, one he wasn't all too impressed with himself in having.

Sighing, he shook his head and moved towards a bench along the sidewalk, and took a seat, looking out into the distance, trying to figure out what to do, before letting out a loud sigh.

"Oh my god, I'm so BOOOREEEED!"

The Doctor let out a laugh as poor Peter empathized with her about the boredom. Then, as he went on about socks, she perked up a bit, her eyebrows raising to her hairline and her smile beaming. "Yes! I love socks- I lost a pair when I first got here after an...interestin' night, let's say. Does Jan have new socks?" But then she realized he was just using it as an example and her excitement died down a little. Turning her eyes back to the darkness ahead of them, she listened and nodded.

"Sounds familiar, believe it or not- well, I don't know a Mr. Fantastic, but my best frenemy calls himself The Master. Or Missy when she's a girl." A faint smile at the memory of that, completely unaware of how confusing it might sound. That was the thing about this particular face. She often forgot she had to explain her universe to other people sometimes. What made it worse was that they all had such fantastical worlds that everything seemed possible and impossible at the same time.

"Weepin' Angels are scary. Picture a statue of an angel coverin' its eyes, 'cept the second you blink or look away, it moves towards you. When you look at it, it freezes. When it reaches you, it reaches out and touches you and sends you to the past, using whatever lifeforce you would have had in your own timeline to survive." She paused then shrugged. "Or it might just snap your neck. Scary beasts, those ones. Very ancient aliens."

Oh yes. The shoes. She smiled, probably a little too proud about this one. "That's where I got bored. I suppose it depends on where you start tyin', the length of the laces, exactly how much torque is bein' applied to your knots- course what type of knot you use, how many times you tie the knot..." She stopped there and shrugged. "You get the picture, right?"

"The Master? That's pretty bad. Though Missy's not, so at least they have good taste--you say that sometimes she's a girl, and other times he's a he? Is this like one of those gender-fluid situations? Which is totally cool by the way, just wanting to not assume--you know what? It doesn't matter. Go them however they want to go."

Well done, Parker. As usual, top notch first impression. Peter chastised himself internally with a mental roll of the eyes, before glancing back to The Doctor and raising up a brow as she went further on about the Angels and about tying shoes. Tilting his head as he watched her, "I uh... so what exactly are you a doctor of by the way? You're giving me some Indiana Jones vibes with all these deadly angel stuff--oh, they're aliens."

That at least made sense. Peter'd met a few aliens in his day and they could definitely bring some terrifying oddities with them, "Are you like an Alien buster from your world, or what?"

He looked down to his shoes then, noting the length, the loops, the different ways already he could loop them, "Yea, okay, yea I can see it. I mean, 460 still seems like a lot, but I think the math could definitely check out. Also, who's Jan? Is she the sock merchant?"

The Doctor didn't even notice any awkwardness. She just went on. "Gender fluid? Yes. I suppose you could say that. Time Lords and Ladies- um...do you know about Time Lords where you're from??" She paused and went on anyway. "Anyway, we change faces- well, whole bodies when we die. Almost die. Not really dead, dead, but our bodies regenerate. Sometimes boys, sometimes girls. Missy was a girl version of the Master. This is actually my first time as a female. Quite a lotta gettin' used to, actually." She sat back, thinking about just how much she had to get used to it.

Who was she? That was quite a question. She grinned. "I'm the Doctor. In my universe, I'm sort of known throughout..everywhere. Long story- very, very long story. I'm a Time Lord, like I said. We're aliens to you, beings who invented ways to travel through time and space. That and we regenerate- said that before. Anyway, I've been travelin for um.give or take 2000 years? Helpin', explorin', just seein' what I can, really. Spend a lotta time on Earth, though. I like Earth! Humans are fascinatin'. You should meet Rose!"

The Doctor was probably confusing the kid even more, but she didn't seem to notice. "Jan's sorta the local clothing merchant, not just socks. Though she can find you socks if you need 'em. I think. Probably shouldn't assume, should I?"

"Anyway! Who are you? I mean, what's to know about you, Peter?"

The woman next to him was going about twenty miles a second and Peter was struggling to keep up. Thankfully, while a lot of it was bizarre and pretty difficult to comprehend, Peter had gotten quite good over the years at accepting the bizarre and out there. Time travel, aliens, multiverses, none of that phased him the slightest anymore. Regeneration? That was... a bit on the weird side, but he'd run into a bit of that in his time.

"Sorry, don't know anything about any Time Lords -- anything like the Watchers? Sound similar..." He figured probably not since she didn't mention them. He watched her a bit and raised his brows in surprise, "Two-thousand? Well you're pulling off 2,000 quite well, good for you. And yea, Earth's great--whose Rose?"

He was actually kind of glad when The Doctor changed subjects a bit, it was difficult to follow along and he was pretty sure he was dizzy just trying to.

"Assuming's usually bad in my book, but I do it all the time too--" He then blinked and shrugged, "Well uh me? I'm just regular ol' Peter Parker. Perfectly human, only 28 years old, though I sometimes feel like I'm 57."

He thought a moment then shrugged, figuring everyone else knew around here anyway, "I mean I guess I was bitten by a radioactive spider when I was fifteen, gave me spider powers, and I wear spandex to fight crime in back home in New York."

Watchers? The Doctor shook her head. "No. Who're they??"

She beamed when he complimented her and cocked her head to the side to think about it. "Rose is um...my friend. Best friend, actually. Hadn't seen her in years, though, til this place. She got stuck in another dimension for a bit. She's blond. Very British. You'd get along, I think."

The Doctor nodded empathetically as Peter explained who he was, especially about the feeling older than your years bit. She could relate. "So like the other Peter? Um, the one that runs Pancho's." The Doctor knew him well enough. "That's amazing that there're two of you! Brilliant, actually." She smiled widely and looked out into the darkness.

"....You ever thought of runnin' a shop, Peter?"

Peter blinked. How did one describe the Watchers, "They're uh, like this big, giant, bald, baby looking guys who watch over all time and space. They're one of the oldest civilizations. They're not supposed to involve themselves in events, and instead just observe and gather knowledge. Basically they watch you when you sleep--creepy dudes.." Peter shrugged, "Anyway, they don't always follow through on their non-interference thing. You'd have to talk to that Mr. Fantastic guy about them, he knows them really well."

The superhero watched as the Doctor went on about her friend and Peter smirked, he thought it was kind of adorable that this eccentric alien who apparently traveled time and dimensions on the regular, was just so excited to have this perfectly normal human best friend. He didn't really know what, but he could tell this was one of the good ones.

"Yea, like the other Peter. I think we're pretty much the same person but with different lives. Alternate reality sort of thing. I've run into a lot of mes in the past, first time meeting him though, and--wait, what?"

Brown eyes shot over towards The Doctor, "Running a shop? No, I've... never thought that. What kind of shop?"

Her eyes narrowed as he described the Watchers. "So....they're your version of the Time Lords." Made sense. Pretty much the same thing, actually. Minus the large bald heads. "Yeah, that's basically what my people do- 'cept we have two hearts and regenerate. I'd love to meet one of these Watchers one day." She smiled, clearly not as impressed or intimidated by such a thing as some might be.

She was smiling still, looking back at him as he described other Peter and obviously being a little thrown off by her question. "I dunno, knick-knacks, gadgets, that sorta thing. Oooo, computer bits!! I could use some computer bits. I mean, m'gettin' my own through the doors, but I'm also tryin' to build here and it takes so much time."

She scrunched her nose at the idea then shrugged. "You'd be good with a shop, I think- and a lamp. You should definitely get a lamp."

"Sorta, I guess? They're not all that... talkative though," Not like the Doctor here who was definitely from point A to point Q without ever touching any of the others in between before she was suddenly back at point F or N, he was definitely not following along, "And you wouldn't. They're very dull, don't really like sharing their information. And they're kinda creepy. Even Uatu, the 'rebellious' one can be a bit of a downer."

Peter blinked, and eyed the Doctor, head tilting a bit, "I'm not sure I'm following.. you want me to start a computer shop with a lamp? I do like lamps... but not sure I need one though. Are you okay?"

The alien in front of him was a bit hard to keep up with, but she did at least raise some good points, "Do we not have a gadget shop here? I could definitely try that. Could be helpful. Don't know anything about running a shop though."
