Clint had come to terms with being here though it was still strange. He was glad that Steve and Tony were around though he missed Laura and Natasha, both of whom he loved in his own way.He missed his children a lot too which was to be expected. They were the reason he had decided to retire from the business of being an avenger. He knew he would miss it, SHIELD and then the Avengers had been a part of his life for so long but Laura was correct. He couldn't keep going off to endanger his life when he had his family relying on him. He would miss it, but he knew he would grow used to it.

Except before he could, he had turned up in this strange, nameless village that had no amneties or anything useful.

There was Kate, the person who knew him but didn't know him and so many other people he didn't recognise. Frustrated with the lack of action he had carved a target in the trunk of a tree, grabbed his bow and was firing arrow after arrow at the tree trying to calm himself. It hadn't worked but it was at least distracting him for the time being, which he supposed was alright.

Well. It was very difficult indeed to pass up a target of any sort, particularly when boredom was beginning to set in. Not that Clint really knew why he was bored -- there was literally a house with portals to a billion different worlds and dimensions just a few blocks away. Something in him said he ought to not go in there too much without company though, because the stakes were high, and you never knew what could happen. That house and those doorways held too much chance, and Clint had never been very good friends with luck.

So yeah. A target. And sure, there was a dude already taking shots with a bow at the thing (and he was good, too!), but---

Well. He didn't see any reason not to join in. From a branch, some several trees away.

He got the bullseye, obviously.

Clint had been at it for awhile, though he wasn't sure how long it had been. He had half considered asking Kate if she wanted to join in but decided he wouldn't intrude on whatever she was doing. She seemed to be settling in well if his lurking on the network was anything to go by. He wasn't one for talking on it much though he would if anything. He had just collected his arrows and restrung the bow when another arrow came flying out of the trees before landing in the middle of the arrow. Surprised, he kept the arrow strung before looking around.

Finally, he spotted someone a few trees over. "Good shot," he called out before swinging around and letting go of his own arrow. He watched it sail through the air and land in the exact same spot as the other one, breaking it in half. He wasn't going to be shown up by someone else.

"Aww, arrow!" Clint called down at the other man, because for all he was competitive (and he really, really was), he was also at least a little bit aware that supplies were limited and didn't have any particular interested in whittling away sticks to make new ones. "Hey, man! You break it, you bought it!" Never mind the fact that, yeah, okay. He'd kinda started it.

He nocked another arrow, but didn't bother actually letting it loose so much as just... being ready for a next, real challenge. "There's a reason why it's called a sitting target, y'know," he said. "Too easy."

Clint laughed. "Come down and join me and I won't do it again!" he offered to the other man. He wasn't keen on having his arrows ruined either so he understood the guys reaction. "I know but it's harder to get a moving target here at least at the moment. I plan on seeing what I can figure out though at some point."

He'd have to talk to Tony about seeing if they could create something once they had the town up and running. As much as he wanted one it was less of an urgent need compared to some other things.

"There are some moving targets," Clint said, scaling down the tree with grace what would have made someone's mother proud. Not his, but whatever. "But they're, you know. Animals. And those only get got for dinner, not fun." Because that'd be weird and creepy. Also, Clint wasn't fantastically happy about shooting them even to eat them.

But needs must, or whatever.

He held his bow loose over his shoulders and made the short distance up to the other guy, offering a crooked smile full of boyish charm. "Nice shooting, man, really."

"That's true but it's odd to have to hunt, kill and then eat? I'll do it when I have to but it's not my preferred way of shooting," he admitted. It would be much easier if they had shops or something to shop at.

"Thanks, you're pretty good too. Where did you learn?" he asked curiously. "I'm clint by the way."

"Oh yeah, I'm not into that," Clint agreed, because it was kinda weird. He wasn't a fan, and felt bad every time he did it, even if he got the necessity of it. "I'm a pizzatarian when I can be, so it's rough."

He paused then, because, oh shit introductions. And this wasn't like, just making a new pal, apparently. It was more like the Peter, Peter and Peter situation. Probably. Because the chances were too outlandish to be anything else. "Really," he said, awkward. "I'm Clint, too."
