Steve considered what she said and gave a slow nod. "Sounds confusing," he admitted, "but I suppose I know how that feels." After all, there were plenty of people who were similar to the ones he knew. Some older, yes. Others just different. It was...interesting. Also, endlessly confusing. He'd chosen not to think too hard about it. Dwelling, he'd come to learn, only drove you mad.
"Oh, it's all right," he replied. "I wasn't doing much, anyway. Just..." He motioned vaguely at where he'd been sitting. "Killing time, I guess. I was thinking about grabbing something to eat." Though, to be fair, he wasn't entirely sure what -- or where -- he'd eat. So, instead, he glanced at the young girl and asked: "So, where are you from?"
