Wundagore had always been a dark place, both metaphysically and actual physically. When she'd arrived here Laura had chosen a house that was somewhat similar, with windows poorly placed to take advantage of the natural light and the rooms and hallways probably too cramped in order to fit into the narrow footprint, but she'd found herself spending a lot of time outside, exploring and watching people and generally just enjoying the novelty of sunshine and fresh air and no stone walls to be seen.
She moved silently from long habit even across the leaf litter on the ground, no particular destination in mind; rather, she'd been working systematically in outward sweeps from the town to familiarise herself with their surroundings. It was quiet this early, but with her enhanced senses she could hear creatures moving around, going about their business, some of them pausing every few seconds to check for predators. It was... a lot, and she usually ended up tuning it out fairly quickly. Perhaps a little too quickly today. She shouldn't have been surprised to come across another person - though in her defense, he was being very quiet and still. "Oh," she said, coming to a sudden stop and freezing up for a couple of seconds before realising she should probably leave him alone.
