Bucky didn't have any intention of ordering anything. He wouldn't be opposed to it but obviously -- to him at least -- coffee wasn't high on the agenda tonight. "You know, I never understood the appeal of decaf," he said. "Then I started drinking coffee post-serum and realized caffeine doesn't actually work on me anymore. I just pretend it does. Placebo effect."
The way Clint was looking at him, like he really was so sincerely happy to see him, really made Bucky feel good. He wasn't used to that. He came from a world where most people thought he was a monster or that he needed to be pitied for all that had been done to him. It wasn't often anyone looked at him and just saw Bucky Barnes, and that they were happy he was there. He hoped Clint would still be happy to see him after he told him the things he wanted to say.
"I guess I'd be lying if I said I didn't have ulterior motives besides coffee," he went on to say. "I kinda just wanted to have a word with one of the owners."
