Leia/OTA
Social events, moments in which she'd relax were scarce back in here world. Not entirely absent though. The last time they'd celebrated had been the evening of her wedding, right there on Endor. A small, private but not secret event. Leia felt, despite everything she’d found her family, blood family in Luke, found family in her new husband, Han and of course, the life long friendships with Rebels she’d worked the closest with. Her fight to defeat the Empire and see the New Republic rise had, for a long time come from anger, pain - the loss of everything she had in Alderaan. Hope that what happened to her home, would never, ever happen again.
Now it was further fueled by creating a future for her family, and what she had found.
And now she was stuck here. The disappointment of the doors not leading to anywhere at all that could get her back to her time, and back to her people had been powerful. Enough to pool with in her and sit there, not that she’d talk about it to anyone.
So why come to someone’s birthday party? Leia heard there was alcohol.
Oh, and all right - maybe meeting some of the others around her wouldn’t be a terrible idea, they all did seem so friendly, so welcoming, perhaps they could help one another get home, if that’s what they wished. So, she lingered on the edges of the gathering, not at all looking unfriendly, but curious, observing of others. The princess had a glass of something that she thought might be a kind of bourbon with a sweet bubbly drink mixed in with it. It wasn’t at all like the throat stripping Corellian whisky, or the immediately intoxicating sweet Ewok fruit wine - but it was pleasant.
