Who: Vision and Tony (MCU)
What: Exploration
When: Friday morning
Where: Space!
Status: On-going

The technology from other worlds fascinated Vision and, when the portals opened to something new, he was delighted to join Tony in exploration. While the scenic displays surrounding him were peaceful, this change was much needed, as it presented him with a world that was new. It was a world that was exciting, although somewhat strange in how it presented itself. Even so, Vision's eyes were larger than usual as he boarded the ship, and they grew wider the further he walked into it.

"I imagine you will be taking this home with you?" Vision asked as he turned briefly to Tony. He smirked, teasing slightly, but there was genuine curiosity in that question. He ran his hand along a board of controls, lightly brushing against the controls, but not forceful enough to press anything. "Or perhaps we could take what we need from it."

Tony wasn't really keen on the Doors. Or space much these days either, considering the luck he'd had with both so far. But -- well. Sometimes needs must. And sometimes those needs involved poking around an alternate dimensional doorway that had opened up to a giant space ship.

Poking around was fun but he was half worried about being found out.

But apparently he wasn't worried enough to not have lifted one of the little cleaning robots off the ground when it'd zoomed by, and he was looking at it as it squeaked and booped in annoyance. It reminded him of Dum-e, a little.

"You know I'm not usually one to steal tech. But." He glanced over at Vision and offered a shrug. "We could use it. Something more to start with than nothing."

Vision joined Tony at his side and peered down at the cleaning robot. Surely he did not care to be held in such a way, but he dealt with it enough as they both examined him. "Dare I say he acts as though he is a robot with an attitude?" Vision said, reaching out to gently brush his finger along the robot's side.

Realizing what he said, he could not help a smirk in amusement. "Then again, I imagine that is the pot calling the kettle black."

Tony's smile was almost real, crooked and amused. "It's not," he disagreed, even though the little robot was making little noises of protest. "You've always been something different. You're not a robot. This guy? He's like Dum-e lite."

So of course Tony liked it. And wasn't even all that ashamed to say that he was going to take it with him. He missed his 'bots. He slipped the droid under his arm and went back to poking at a screen nearby. "You been okay?"

Dum-e lite. Vision cracked a grin and peered down at the little one once more before returning his attention to Tony. "Here I thought you were going to insist I didn't have an attitude," he teased with a laugh.

Once Tony resumed his poking, Vision continued on in his own searching, pausing for a moment at the question. "It's strange, this tranquility, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. In the years I've spent with you, chaos has always found ways to cling to our shadows. Yet here we are... and we've both still got our heads."

"I'd never insist you don't have an attitude, Viz." Tony pointed out. "I think we both know better than that." Because JARVIS was part of him, really, and no one had been better at dry sarcasm. And Vision wasn't without a mind of his own, also.

"If I didn't know better, I'd think you were accusing my very presence of being chaotic," Tony said, unlatching a control panel and looking at the parts of the whole, slowly dismantling each and taking what he thought he could work with. More material than anything else.

Maybe Tony didn't know better. Maybe he was chaotic. Maybe trouble would always just find him. He didn't know. It was good though, that Vision was getting ahold of relaxing. At least one of them was. "I have a kid, in the future." He said it before he even really gave himself time to think about the merits of talking about it.

Vision was prepared with a witty remark as a reply, but that last statement caught him by surprise, and he was speechless. He followed suit in their search, taking apart a panel near him and examining what was underneath, all while considering the revelation Tony had presented.

"A son or a daughter?" he finally asked, glancing over his shoulder so he could see the expression on his friend's face... examining how it looked as Tony gave the news.

It was maybe good that Tony had something to do with his hands -- that his focus was just as much on the tech in front of him, and the dumb little robot he'd settled into his lap as it was on this conversation.

"Girl -- a daughter," he said, and if he was a little too focused on his work, it was because he had to be. It felt like too much otherwise. "Morgan. Natasha had pictures. Videos. She's perfect."

Through all of his time on the world, there were conversations presented that could be classified as difficult to engage in. However, this one was different and in a class of its own. There was a stillness in the air that wasn't there before and the tone of the conversation was incredibly sincere. Vision was quiet for a few moments as he calculated something to say, all while trying to make sense of the entire revelation.

"Morgan," he repeated, a smile stretching the corners of his lips. "Of course she is perfect, she's a Stark after all."

Tony laughed at that, and it was just as pleased sounding as it was sad. Vision was still someone new to this world, just barely a few years old even if he had wisdom and knowledge beyond that. Tony knew what had happened to Vision down on Earth while he was up in space, reeling with his own failure and loss -- of course he'd asked Steve after his own when they'd gotten here originally and actually sat down to talk. The run he'd gotten wasn't fair, either.

"She did seem like something of a genius," he agreed, enjoying the praise no matter how fleeting it was. "I don't suppose either of us will ever get to meet her. I hope that Tony knows how lucky he is every day." It weighed on him, here. The knowledge that there were things that would not be anymore, because that just wasn't how time travel worked, accidental or not.

He cleared his throat, uncertain and a little vulnerable; two things Tony Stark didn't like being. "Anyway. The tech here isn't really as impressive as you'd think, but the data on a whole looks -- useful. If we could get some of that and maybe some of these -- screens? It'd make my life a hell of a lot easier."

"I'm going to take a chance with expressing the shock of you lacking confidence in having your chance to meet her," Vision said, his bright smile dimming a bit as he watched his friend's demeanor change with such a realization.

"Here you are, taking alien robots hostage on a ship that is from a world we were never supposed to know..." He moved past Tony to look upon one of the screens, looking over it closely to see just how he could remove it without much damage. It was nice, after all, and would be a fitting souvenir. "If we can accomplish that, we can see Morgan one day. I would only suggest perhaps shutting down a few more of the electricity sources here so we can successfully survive retrieving what we need."

Tony actually had to stop his fingers working and glance over at Vision when he more or less scolded him for not being able to think more positively or outside of the box in terms of this situation. And, granted, he had a point, a very smart and solid one. They were here doing things that should have been impossible and they lived in a place that didn't make sense. It wasn't a known thing that they wouldn't get to meet her.

Tony just didn't want to tell himself that, because it would hurt all the more when it never happed and it hurt enough already now. He'd wanted a kid, before. But now that he knew he had one somewhere, he wanted Morgan all the more.

"You're probably right," he said anyway, smiling lopsidedly at Vision. "You're wise beyond your years." And then he was bending back down to reach into the tech a little more, flipping a few switches on what looked like the main power grid. "How's it now?"
