Who: Miles Morales, Gwen Stacey, and Sirius Black
What: An adventure in space
When: Thursday afternoon
Where: Through the doors
Rating: Mild to moderate (violence/action)

Miles had arrived, eager, excited, and maybe a little bit nervous about going through the doors (especially after what both Peters had said). And maybe a little about seeing Gwen. Or the Gwen from here, at least. He'd dawned his suit under his shorts and hoodie, and he waited. Backpack over his shoulders, just in case, Miles was looking eagerly as he held the straps with both hands and watched for them.

He had no idea who Sirius was or if they could trust them, but he also knew he had to start meeting people around here if he ever wanted to get out. Or just get away from the over-protective Peter for a while. Not that that Miles didn't like living with Peter- it had been kinda cool, actually. But the guy was protective and..maybe remindedMiles a little of his dad. Not in a bad way, but Miles was starting to admit to himself just how much he was missing home a little more every day.

Sighing, he watched for anyone, grinning finally as someone approached, wondering how to introduce himself. Er, again.

Luckily for Miles it was Sirius, and there was really no need for awkward introductions or introductions at all. Sirius was, in general, something of a social flower and since this week had been putting his emotions on notice, he was amping it all up a bit just to even it out.

He tended to take over rooms with his personality when he was in them. "Oi! Hey!" He grinned, all dimples and white teeth. "Miles, yeah? This is going to be an absolutely brilliant adventure. Space!" He made an exhaling noise that properly explained how exciting a concept that was. "What a way to get out of a comfort zone, huh?"

He was ready for it though. If ready meant a leather jacket and a pair of Doc Martens that were genuinely vintage because he'd bought them at a muggle shop in 1976. And his wand of course. But he never left home without that.

Gwen had jumped at the chance to go through the doors because, well, SPACE, and it meant she could get out and do something. She'd gone through before with Jan and America, but this was going to be totally different than winding up in a possessed Target or at Comic Con. One never really knew what to expect when going through the doors but this time she was really going to be out of her element. Hopefully the Sirius guy she was going to teach to play drums might have some way to get them through space if things got dicey. As advanced as spider suits were, Gwen knew hers couldn't withstand being in outer space and from the sounds of it Miles' couldn't either.

They'd figure it out.

Right?

Definitely.

Maybe.

She showed up to see that both guys were already there. She had a hoodie on over her suit, but just let the bottom half of it double as leggings. The hood of her suit double layered the hood of her outerwear. Something about Miles made her smile a little to herself, though she didn't know why. Maybe because it was weird to see another Spider-Man who wasn't Peter Parker. Sure. She'd go with that.

"Hey boys," she said, walking up, hands in her hoodie pockets. She approached them both and flashed a smile. "We've all done the chat thing on the net but, I'm Gwen. So basically, we go through and we're either gonna end up somewhere cool or maybe dead from space, right? Sounds like getting on the subway. Ready to go?"

Miles immediately liked Sirius. "You're British!" He seemed surprised, but cleared his throat and shook the other man's (boy's?) hand with a big grin. "Yeah, nice to meet you and thanks for coming along. Never know what we'll find." Sirius definitely seemed cool. At least, in a vintage punk-rock away.

As Gwen approached, Miles' smile faded just a little. Not because he didn't want to see her- the opposite. He cleared his throat and lifted his chin up. "Um...hey." He was trying to sound cool. Obviously a little bit of a different demeanor. With the other Gwen, he'd relaxed over time. He knew he shouldberelaxed, but there was a REALLY cool guy next to them and a part of him might have felt just a little bit threatened at the concept. Which was totally stupid! But...he was 16.

"Yeah, this should be awesome! Right?" He grinned, hoping he was right."Anyway, um...anyone wants to go first? Have you guys been through before? I mean, I can go...if you want- just checking."

"I am!" Sirius (who would very much describe himself as a man) agreed, equally excited because Miles was not British, and that was cute. He shook hands with him and smiled all dimples. "It'll be a riot." He was sure of it. And he was pretty sure he could handle a little bit of space with a bubblehead charm if the going got real tough. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that.

Gwen was a right knock out when she showed up and Sirius decided that he liked the both of them right at once, especially when Miles got absolutely weird over everything. "Sirius. Wotcher?" he introduced himself to Gwen with a wink and then wandered over to one of the doors, glancing at them both over his shoulder. He'd go first. That wasn't a problem.

"Ready?" He didn't really wait for an answer though, before yanking a door open and peering through.

There was a brief moment where Gwen wondered if maybe she should've consulted more with Alpha Peter and Mr. Stark about going into space, or maybe asked one of them to come along too. Normally she was one to act first and think later but this was totally uncharted territory and while she'd never been particularly worried about going through the Doors before she was feeling a little apprehensive this time. Not because she didn't really know her travel companions; she hadn't known Jan or America before she took the plunge with them and that had been fine. If Miles was a Spiderling, then she had a decent idea of what he was capable of. Sirius was a wizard, so that meant he could do pretty awesome shit with a wand. Really she just didn't want to end up getting sucked into space and die. That would majorly cramp her style.

But, it hadn't stopped her from showing up. It was space; how cool was that? She'd be an idiot to miss out on the chance and definitely would regret it. "Yep. Let's do this." She flexed her fingers and turned them inward like she was practicing to tap on the triggers to release her webs, but stopped short of actually doing it. It was like she was warming up for something that might be on the other side.

"Can you see anything?" She asked as she followed behind and peeked over his shoulder. "Are we going to get sucked into some kinda vortex?"

Miles just nodded, hopping a little on his feet to warm up and following behind Gwen. He was glad that Sirius was willing to take the first steps, but his eyes went wide when he saw it wasn't space at all...but a city. With flying cars and...weird things. Aliens?!

Those were definitely aliens.

Miles stepped through the door after the others, looking up into the darkened cityscape with only the lights of various buildings and vehicles illuminating it. It was like something out of a scifi movie. "Wow..."

He turned around and grinned. "Wait....I think we're on another planet- are we on another planet?!"

It most certainly wasn't space as in the lot of them hanging out amongst the stars, but it was a different planet. It had to be, considering Sirius didn't recognize anything and it was safe to say that he knew more about secret civilizations than most.

"Phwoar!" His exclamation needed no real words for his excitement, frankly. He tugged at Gwen's elbow to get her to come with and moved to stand next to Miles, head tilting back to look up at the tall buildings, and watch the flying car-things zoom by.

"Brilliant," he declared. It was all very impressive, and very large, from the looks of it. "What do you both think we ought to do first? Get one of those flying cars?"

Gwen had never been on another planet before. Well. She wasn't quite sure what Starklandia was, if it was a planet or just a town or what. She'd been in other universes, which she guessed counted but space wasn't the same thing.

She laughed when Sirius tugged on her to come through. Once she was in, she looked around, blue eyes wide and taking in whatever she could see with her heightened senses. It was a lot. Enough that she was tempted to reach for her mask just to dial it down a little, but she opted not to and just tried to commit what she saw to memory without being overwhelmed by it.

"Damn," she said as she watched one zoom by. "Yes. We are so totally going to find one of those to borrow. Keep. Gently use."

"YES! Definitely!" Miles was overly excited at the concept of getting a flying car. Probably even more so than the other two. Of course, there was the matter of actually figuring out how...or where. Or how. "We are definitely flying a car- what's that?" He glanced over Gwen's shoulder at a stall selling something...bright. Well, blinking and what looked like some sort of space toy.

Who could be sure? He stopped himself from stepping closer, though, and looked at Sirius. "Okay...so what? Do we just look around or um..what do we do now?"

Poor Sirius seemed to be the most obvious choice to be a leader and Miles was cool with just going with that for now. He'd strike out on his own once he figured out where they were. Then again, safety in numbers, right?

"Gently use while we keep it," Sirius agreed, because he and Gwen were very much on the same page. And lucky for the lot of them they had a wizard with them who was able to shrink things down in order to fit them through a door that was not very large, wasn't it?

He glanced over at Miles and offered the most charming grin in his arsenal. "Course we look around. Figure things out. See if these blokes know our language at all. Maybe find some food, too. Gotta know what alien food tastes like, don't we?"

Of course they did.

And since Sirius was the self proclaimed and possibly also voted in leader, he was the first to pick a direction to walk in. It was like a proper market almost, with vendors and stalls all lined up down the street. It was best to just look at them all, even though none of them had any idea what the currency situation might be like. "Y'know how muggles have those lots with just cars for sale?" He asked them even as he eyed up what looked like some candy. Was there space chocolate? Remus might like that. "We should find one of those. Pick out our most favorite ve-hickle." Yes, that was definitely how he'd pronounced it.

Gwen had yet to find out that Sirius could shrink things so her thoughts were that if they wanted to keep it they'd just have to plow through the door with it. Maybe. That was probably not a good idea, but she kind of flew by the seat of her Spider-suit most of the time anyway so she wasn't really going to stress over that until the time came to figure out how to get it to Starklandia.

Briefly she wondered if they had alien corndogs, but she also kinda wasn't sure if breaded alien meat on a stick was the best idea to try. Granted, it might actually be the best thing ever so she didn't want to limit herself.

"Yeah, yeah, a car lot," she said, agreeing with Sirius. Hopefully there was one nearby and they wouldn't have to go too far. If they did, though, it'd still be on a kickass alien planet. Unless they were hostile. That would totally suck. "I can go ask someone. Preferably someone with a mouth and not just antennae."

"Hey, you good?" She asked Miles, and pat his shoulder. "I almost had to put my mask on to dial it back a bit." Being a Spiderling could get overwhelming and this was a lot to take in. "Don't worry if you need to do that. If anything we'd probably look more inconspicuous in our suits." She smiled, then darted off to find someone to talk to, but did put her mask on to sort of hide her human face.

It took about twenty seven seconds. Gwen found an alien with four eyes on each side of his head, but he did have a mouth. He didn't speak their language, so she had to point and kind of play charades, involving her mimicking driving and paying for something. When she got back, she pulled the hood back from her face and looked between the two. "Okay, so Bob over there said through a series of blehs and meeps and whomps that we gotta go that way," she said, and pointed to the left. "But y'know, stuff gets lost in translation, so."

Miles was just nodding to agree as he continued to take everything in. Gwen would have been right to ask- this was a little bit overwhelming for anyone with their senses, even someone from New York. So many new sights, smells, and even potential dangers. Still, Miles was more intrigued than anything else. "Like a space car lot?" He mused. "I wonder if they have those giant inflatable air guys- or maybe some space version of it" Or maybe the guys who held the signs!

Gwen asked about him and he looked a little surprised but shrugged. "Yeah...No, it's cool. I mean, it's a lot! But it's cool." He grinned, again trying to keep up that "cool" demeanor.

"So...um...what's a muggle?" Miles asked Sirius as Gwen went over to talk to the random alien, even though his eyes were on her and her strange miming the whole time. It was a show. He wondered if the poor guy knew what she was talking about. He got his answer when she came back.

"I don't think his name is really Bob." Miles muttered, but he was going to go along. "I also don't know if you really know that." He followed along anyway. Because, why not, right?

Sirius couldn't say he wasn't a little curious about the mask that Gwen slid on, because of course he was, but there was also another part of him that decided it was quite a brilliant look, particularly for a place like this. "What's an inflatable guy?" He asked Miles when Gwen wandered off to ask questions -- and if he stealthily pocketed a few candies when no one was looking, that was his own business. He highly doubted this place was going to take galleons anyway.

"And a muggle's like -- you know. Not a wizard." Sirius forgot sometimes -- forgot that it was a word that didn't work in places like Starklandia, where he was the minority, where it might have sounded a bit like a judgmental sort of word.

Luckily, Gwen came back and pointed them in the right direction so Sirius took to that direction immediately -- because surely they could talk while they wandered -- and keep a mental map of the directions they were going in, too. "'Course his name is Bob. Space Bob. Y'know," he said, pulling his wand out of his pocket rather suddenly. "I'd like to talk in whomps but maybe I've got a proper way for translation, anyway." Maybe he should have thought of that earlier, but he rather liked being in a foreign place with mysteries.

Gwen was also pretty sure that alien's name wasn't Bob but it sounded like he'd said 'Bob' at some point so she was just going with it. That was sort of going to be a theme, she thought; going with it. They were in a completely alien place, literally, so going with the flow was probably for the best rather than getting strung out on any weirdness. The whole thing was going to be weird, and Gwen could handle weird. She'd seen enough of it to last her a lifetime already. Besides, this was really cool and they might get a flying car out of it.

She knew Sirius was a wizard, which was super cool, but she didn't know a lot about it and that was something she was definitely curious about. She was supposed to be giving him drum lessons and thought she might ask him questions about it whenever that happened, but since they were now in a world behind the Doors together she was going to get to hopefully see some of what he could do. The wand was cool. It was crazy to think that actual magic could come out of a stick like that.

"You can translate the whomps? That'll come in handy trying to talk the car salesman's ear off while one of us gets the car and sneaks off with it." Gwen didn't condone stealing, but she also didn't have any alien currency. It was kind of like when she and Jan took all that crap from Target. She felt bad about it, but it was kind of like Robin Hood-esque. Maybe a flying car was extravagant and really pushing the line there, but it could be useful. Maybe.

"It's the big red or colorful thing that people put air into and the arms go up and, like-" Miles put his arms above his head and wiggled his body, trying his best to imitate the infamous movements, but was probably just making himself look weird. That was especially obvious when two passing aliens looked at him funny then went on whispering about him as they passed. He frowned and put his arms down. "You know what? Nevermind."

A muggle. Cool. He grinned. "So like, that's a real word you guys use for us?? Why Muggles? Like, I've never heard that term before." He scrunched his nose at the idea and then glanced back towards Gwen. He was definitely going to ask about muggles later. and probably magic.

"Wait- you can use magic to translate, too??" Was there anything magic couldn't do?? Miles wanted to know. Seriously. This was getting better and better. "Is there like, a spell that can make us speak their language? What is it??" He hadn't quite noticed Sirius sneaking candies, too excited by everything else to catch on, though normally it might be more obvious.

"We're stealing a car?" he seemed to catch on late and looked at Gwen, then back at Sirius, then back at Gwen. "Wait- why are we stealing a car, again?"

"I will absolutely translate the whomps," Sirius said, even as he squinted at Miles who was doing a very good rendition of the Whomping Willow, but was probably completely unaware of that. It made for a very confusing scene, Sirius felt.

Anyway, he proved his point that he could in fact translate the whomping by flicking his wand at the three of them. "Transferendum!" And as simple as that, all the background noises that had once been gibberish starting making sense, bartering and conversations that could be understood, bleeding into the moment, a more familiar background noise. "It'll go both ways," he said, lifting his chin a little higher, like he was a bit proud of himself and smug. Which he absolutely was. It was a trait that Sirius had never quite grown out of, and probably never would - his love affair with his own ego.

And then he was turning around to walk backwards in order to properly look at Miles as he spoke -- seemingly unconcerned about the concept of someone else bumping into him, or not really knowing where he was going. "Because we want one," he said, very seriously. "They fly."
