America nodded solemnly, she understood how teams could be like that, she tended not to stick around long enough for that to happen to her, but she'd seen it happen to others often enough to know how it could be. Karma had a way of catching up to people but that didn't make the sting of betrayal any easier to bear.
She smiled when he called her portals interesting, "Normally they're the sort of thing I can use to travel not just from place to place but through dimensions, space, and time." She told him. "It's not the sort of thing everyone can do where I'm from, but some of us can." She almost showed off the stars on her inner wrists that marked her out as a Starling, but held back before she went that far - she didn't normally talk about her abilities that much with people, but being here made her more open in some ways.
The suns were brutal, but America laughed just a little, "It is a bit unusual, but it's not the first time I've seen something like this." The multiverse was a vast and sometimes crazy sort of place, and suns were always hard to predict. "What's really worse than three suns is when you've got one massive one," She held her hands out wide, though it was obviously a bigger thing than she could demonstrate with hand movements. "They're the killers."
When he mentioned selling their spoils America perked up a little, "Oh that'd be kind of neat, I haven't gotten to check out the markets yet, have you seen them?"
