Jason made a face at the thought of Barbara, of any Barbara, in that chair again. Surely that Barbara had worked as hard as his, had struggled and suffered. He couldn't see it as anything other than cruel that she didn't get the same help his did.
"I was something we had to teach ourselves in order to deal with Bruce. You were lucky enough not to have to live with him. He used to be so deep in his cover that even when it was just the three of us in the manor he'd still eat his burgers with a knife and fork. Alfred just acted like it was normal and I was pretty sure for a while that was what going crazy felt like." And some would argue that later Jason would find out exactly what that was like, but he was never in the mood to have that conversation. "Dick was full of helpful tips to annoy Bruce into acting like a real person, and thus the tradition began."
For him, Dick and Damian at least. Tim was always trying too hard to impress Bruce and prove himself the best Robin while destroying himself, or so Jason tended to think. And while she might have appeared more mature than the rest of them, at the time he would have been convinced that she would have joined in.
