Yeah this was not going to work out, and unlike the dinosaurs, Barbara had just a little bit of guilt about what was going to happen next. But well - they had been minding their own business, mostly. It was the Sheriff who decided that he needed to get involved, so she tried not to let herself get too worried about it.
It would have been nice too if the Sheriff had been on his own, without the whole deputy thing, but they weren't going to be that lucky, and just when she thought maybe she'd have words for Harley the deputies started shooting. "Oh that's it," She growled under her breath and reached into her bag, not for a batarang, which could have been pretty helpful here too but instead for her mace.
She ran at the deputies leaving Harley to deal with the Sheriff and sprayed them both in the face before she was sweeping their legs out from under them, and then bringing a leg down across their middle - first one and then the other. "Stay down guys, trust me." She said under her breath for just them before she was up again assessing the situation once more.
Where people in the town had just been staring initially they were running now - women and children running for cover inside and the men - well they looked like they weren't sure if they should start shooting or if there was some other option they ought to consider.
"Maybe we head back to the door now?" She asked Harley instead of worrying too much about the men who had held their hands at their waists like they were just waiting for an excuse to go for their guns. She really hated guns.
