Yeah it had been a big ask, but you know you'd never know if you didn't try, right? That was always Barbara's motto - but it seemed like this was not going t be their day, especially as Harley practically taunted the sheriff, there was no choice for him to come over after that little wave. Barbara cast her eyes skyward just briefly and sighed inwardly, okay you can do this Gordon, it's just an old west police guy, you deal with Gotham PD all the time. You've got this.
"Come on now," Barbara said as the sheriff said he was going to have to try and take them in on account of decency laws, she prayed she wasn't going to hurt herself trying not to roll her eyes at the gall of such a thing. "My friend and I aren't hurting anyone, Officer-" She paused, hoping to get a name out of him.
"That's Sheriff to you, ma'am, and your friend." He said with the same kind of sternness that she imagined her father would in situations like this, that did not bode well at all - Jim Gordon could be nearly as stubborn as his daughter.
"If it's decency that's the problem, we'll just be on our way out of town and save us all the trouble." She offered, hoping that the extension of an olive branch here might just be enough to save them from any sort of gun fight, considering neither of them had a gun as far as she knew.
"We'll be out of your hair, and you fine folks and go back about your business."
