A lot had changed in a decade. They'd both changed in ways that were practically immeasurable but Tony liked to think that most of those things had been for the better. Not their circumstances, of course. But them as people? Yeah. They'd grown.
Maybe that was why it hurt so much. Because there was a crack, something broken in the both of them, and they were both smart enough that there were just some damages that couldn't be fixed and some voids that couldn't be filled. Sometimes you just had to live with it.
