"Don't meme at me," Tony said and it was accompanied with a hand gesture that was possibly just Tony trying to swat the idea away from him. Look, it wasn't like he didn't get what kids were talking about these days but for the fact that he absolutely did not. He hadn't taken the time to keep up on those before and he certainly wasn't now. Peter just sort of said things sometimes, and they went over Tony's head and that was that.
Gallows humor, on the other hand? Well, that was just right up their alley. Had to be in a profession like theirs. It wasn't really funny. It absolutely was not. But it was so absolutely terrible that the terribleness of it was funny. Sort of. Tony offered a smile, only a little tilt of the mouth, but it was something.
"Yeah, I don't recommend closing the door. It's happened a few times and it's been fine to open up again quickly but I'd rather not do experimenting on it with people. We keep them open." He stuck one hand in his pocket but offered Natasha his other arm, just like old times. Because he had missed her, and because he was still a little mad and more sad and even though he wasn't the sort to know how to ask for it, physical touching could go a long way to comfort.
"It's completely random. It doesn't open anywhere quite right."
