It was fair to say they both had questions. It was also fair to say that Natasha, ever skilled in information getting, would be better at asking for things in a way where it didn't really seem like she was prying, and so would, consequently, get a bigger picture out of Tony than he might of her.
To his credit, or perhaps discredit, depending upon how one looked at the entirety of the scene, Tony was kind of just too damned worried to ask. While he was a man of science and truth as much as any could be, maybe it was just possible that there were some things a person shouldn't know until they were living them.
He wasn't sure. What he already knew was keeping him up at night. Well, more than usual.

He asked, dusting off his jeans and trotting down the stairs for her to follow --wires and tools left behind like he wasn't worried for a second that someone might take them.
