Things had felt uncomfortable between them for a long time, in Remus' world. Sirius had always been someone Remus had been close to. Though most would say it was Sirius and James attached at the hip, what they didn't notice was that he and Remus were always together, too. Now that he'd sort of reconciled the idea that the Sirius standing in front of him now was from an earlier time period than where he'd just come from (he'd accepted it, even though he didn't understand it), he wished with all of his heart he could go back to that time. If he could, there wouldn't have been even the slightest hesitation for him to go to Sirius immediately and hug him, or let Sirius pounce on him and knock them both to the ground. It just made him miss Sirius that much more. It made the pieces of his broken heart ache terribly.
When Sirius stepped forward, Remus' breath hitched in his throat and he wanted so badly to reach for him. He kept his hands at his sides though, at least for now. "There's so much you don't know, and you shouldn't have to know it because it hasn't happened to you yet. But if.. If I tell you, then maybe if we ever get back to where we came from you can stop it from happening. Then maybe you can fix it."
He met Sirius' eyes; Merlin, those eyes. The last time he saw them they'd been stormy grey with anger and a dash of desperation. "Do you want to know everything, Sirius? You have to be absolutely certain, because there's no coming back from it once you know."
