Well, this is it. You're at a crossroads, he thought. Remus had to make a choice. He either had to lose his proverbial shit and let out everything he'd been trying desperately to hold in for months, or he had to just let this play out. He didn't even know what this was. For all he knew, he was still passed out from the effects of the wolfsbane and this was just a very real feeling dream. A cruel dream. One he wanted to scream himself awake from but also never wanted to leave because it was Sirius and he looked carefree and happy and exactly how he ought to be.
It felt wrong to move away from Sirius, as he was the one person Remus actually seemed to always gravitate toward in his life, but subconsciously he did. He stepped back when Sirius came forward. He hadn't meant to, and Merlin, it felt wrong. That one subtle gesture that should've went unnoticed had Remus' skin crawling with discomfort.
"Have I gone mad?" He asked, sincerely, because that was the only thing that made sense here -- the fact that nothing was making sense. "Sirius, is that.. Are you truly here?"
