Well it wasn't like Tony could know exactly how their timelines differed without knowing what Old Tony had done so yeah starting sooner was as good as he had off the top of his head.
He shrugged, this wasn't exactly the sort of thing that he wanted to talk about, and if anyone else had sat down with him and demanded to know about the differences in timelines he wouldn't have but here he was all the same. Tony was - well he was Tony right? Even if he was older. "I mean. My parents died, and I took over the family business. And uh - well I ended up in Afghanistan and kind of needed to make the armor to save myself?"
Yeah this was a part of his history that he didn't really want to play out again even for Tony. "It seemed like the thing to do after that? You know? Try and fix things that were broken." Whether it was you know actual tech or situations.
