It was pretty impossible to get the drop on Steve, so the young man calling out to him wasn't unexpected and he slowed to a stop again. He pushed his hair back from his forehead as he stopped again, taking a few deep breaths. There were few people there who could keep up with him, so he certainly wasn't going to hold it against the new guy.
"Of course not," Steve said with an easy smile. "I'm sure I'm not the only one who enjoys a morning run." Actually Steve knew, judging by how busy the running trails in New York were that he was far from the only one who liked to start the day getting his blood pumping. This wasn't New York though and he usually was the only one up and around this early.
"We haven't met yet, I'm Steve," he said as he got close enough to hold out his hand. "Have you settled in alright?" Steve asked. Of course Steve knew which house he'd taken, where he was situated, he liked keeping track of things like that.
