Klaus | Jan :: Coffee Date
"Maybe it's everyone else who just needs to get over their assumptions and not the person with the name." He suggested when she mentioned all the negative connotations. Why should a word carry so much with it, but also - if he was being honest it was the sort of thing he said not because he truly believed it, but rather because it sounded funny. Not that he was going to tell her that, and none of his siblings were here to rat him out so you know, it worked.
"You don't strike me as the sort of girl who finds the terror of others all that amusing," But he'd been wrong before and he certainly didn't mind that she was that kind of girl, he sat back a little and gave her another once over, enjoying the sight of her just a little more upon further review.
Klaus held a hand out in something vaguely like a shrug when she guessed that he had a power after his answer, but didn't elaborate further.
"Just once? Now that's a shame. It sounds like you just hadn't found the right kind of drugs for you." Klaus of course had sampled nearly all that he'd come across and found there were some he enjoyed better than others, but at the end of the day if his powers were muted then he didn't really care all that much what he took. Being here in a place where muted powers didn't seem to be an issue was a new thing for him, to be sober and not have ghosts screaming at him. He wondered if this was what life was like for everyone else all the time.
He should have known that would be her next question, "Mediumship." He said simply, the true breadth of what that meant was still being revealed to him but here wasn't really the space to explore what that was, so the simplest answer was best.
