Remus kept his arms around Regulus, not letting go because the younger boy seemed to need some sort of sense of safety and stability. While he wasn't sure he was the best candidate for such a thing, he was the only other person there. Regulus didn't deserve to feel like he was alone. They didn't have to be the best of friends but he'd certainly listen to him if he needed someone to talk to.
"Of course," he said. "No need to thank me. Just remember that you've got options here. It's not hopeless."
