WHO: Bucky and Clint
WHAT: Birthday!
WHERE: Coffee!
WHEN: March 10

Birthdays! Those were fun, right? Clint tended to occasionally think so, depending on what the landmark year was, and where he was and, like, his general state of mind or whatever. He’d had a pretty solid birthday this last year, what with the Blade Runner outdoor movie session and snacks and stuff.

It’d been good. And he was a fairly social creature, so he’d enjoyed the fact that the whole town had made a night of it with him.

Bucky, on the other hand, wasn’t overly social and so a movie night or a party clearly wasn’t the way to go. Instead, Clint had woken him up with smooches, and then more smooches and then a little something he liked to call Hanky Panky (but only because it was funny) and then, because he was the best husband in town, he did that all over again in the shower.

Happy Birthday indeed.

But he wasn’t done yet. Now, with squeaky clean hair and teeth, he pulled on a t-shirt and a sweater that was absolutely not his and offered Bucky a toothy grin. He hadn’t bothered putting his hearing aids back in after the shower yet, so wiggled his fingers obnoxiously to get Bucky’s attention fully. Made you a cake. he signed. That’s breakfast when you’re an adult. Mind, the cake was in his shop, because he’d meant for it to be a surprise — except he was kind of bad at secrets.

Birthdays were fun, yes. They were fun when you had a spouse who woke you up with birthday Hanky Panky ©. It was true; Bucky wasn't overly social these days and kind of kept to hanging around the people he was most familiar with. He hadn't always been that way, but here and now, it was the case. Bucky went to the parties in town most of the time, but he much preferred having his birthday spent with his husband.

That said, he hadn't put any expectations on the day. Bucky didn't think Clint would forget the day, but he could easily be happy spending the day in their pajamas watching DVDs on the couch.

Clint definitely hadn't forgotten the day, and if Bucky's wake up call and subsequent shower were any indication of the day's events -- well -- he had zero complaints.

After their Hanky Panky © shower, Bucky dressed in a sweater as well, with a purple shirt underneath it. After towel drying and finger-combing his hair, he caught Clint's finger wiggles out of the corner of his eye. Most important meal of the day, he signed back, and smirked. I have the best husband.
