WHO: Leia Organa & Weiss Schnee
WHAT: Meeting, perhaps door venturing?
WHERE: The doors
WHEN: Midday, 7th of March.

Whilst more often than not, door adventures were planned events and more often as a form of ‘holiday’ or retreat from Starklandia - which would always, to Leia feel a rather stifling, and somewhat-too-small place to happily exist in. Some days, the Princess simply woke up restless, and decided on a whim she’d walk to the doors and see what they presented, not always a wise venture alone, but she would always bring along her lightsaber, and her blaster too - as well as a backpack with a few essentials. The doors could present danger as readily as they could offer the perfect escape and everyone was liable to be prepared for one or the other. Especially if they chose to randomly lock behind you - it seemed a one off, but predictability wasn't this world's strong suit.

Today, she was taking time to herself on her impromptu adventure - still she sent Galen a message so he’d know where she’d gotten to - and she’d likely let him know which doorway she had chosen too, just to be on the safe side, as one would were they going for a hike, or such; and also to avoid concern. With luck she’d happen upon a place she could pilfer a few supplies for the town, from.

When Leia arrived at the doors, she found a young woman contemplating which to go through, or so she assumed, by the look of her - it wasn’t difficult to tell new arrivals, if only because one became so accustomed to the same faces, day to day, at gatherings and parties - anyone even a few weeks in was very easy to spot. Some seemed to acclimatise rapidly, others weren’t immediately happy to be here at all. Leia had been in the latter camp, for a long time she’d so desperately wanted to go home - now she was on the verge of a year in this world. Things changed, no matter how you resisted them.

“Hello.” Leia greeted her with warmth, and a smile. “Trying to decide which to take?” She asked conversationally, attempting to gauge if she was interested in company, or even a little help at all. “It’s always a bit of a gamble, I’m afraid.”

Weiss had taken to going to the doors just to see if she couldn't catch a glimpse of home. She would be recognizable back home, of course, but she wanted to find her way home. She knew she couldn't stay even if she found it, but there was still a chance that she could get more Dust if she found a shop or something.

She felt a spike of anxiety as she stared at the doors, the same as she always did before she tried to open the doors. She had Myrtenaster at her side, her regular combat outfit. She knew she had a limited supply of Dust on her, but she was going to use it if she needed to, but hope that she wouldn't need to.

She stilled, turning to look at the person that had turned up. She offered a quick smile. "Well, I'm looking for a very specific place, but I'm not sure that I'll find what I'm looking for. I guess I could just go through and try to get some things instead of always looking for a specific sort of place. I just don't want to...have to overthink things." Like how much Dust she was using.

Leia arched a brow, it was all a little vague - but that was okay, it wasn’t impossible to pick it apart, Leia mused to herself, especially given that the woman was rather new here. “Often that’s the best way to better embrace this world- not to overthink it.” She noted thoughtfully. That was something she’d learned in a way, among other things. “By no means be unprepared, of course, where possible.”

The sword-like object at her side, suggested to the Princess that this woman would agree. “But you can waste a lot of time overthinking matters regarding this place. Including just how awful it’s name is.” She added with a smirk, trying to ease the mood a touch, arriving here wasn’t a quick adjustment.

“Generally there’s always something useful to be brought back through any of the doors.” Useful to the town, to everyone collectively. Perhaps not what Weiss was looking for. “Specific things? Not always so easy.” Her brows furrowed as she made a bit of a guess. “Something that’s familiar to you?” A guess, not a complete stab in the dark, she thought. There was a pretty decent list of the things she’d bring home, should the doorway Alderaan, or any world to her galaxy return.

Weiss definitely wasn't the kind to be unprepared. She just hated not being able to practice certain things. It showed her just how easy her life before had been. Even when it wasn't exactly easy.

"The name could use some work," she agreed. For one, she couldn't even remember meeting anyone by the name of Stark. She'd heard of them, but she hadn't really talked to them. Maybe she'd just missed the opportunity. "It sounds like something my father would come up with. Only not the exact name." Just something that make him a very popular or important person in the grand scheme of things.

"It's called Dust," she said after a moment. "I know I probably don't need it. They said there isn't much fighting here. Only..." Only it would make her feel more at ease. Because who could say whether or not it might come up eventually? She could rely on just her, but having more Dust would help. "I'd have to find a door that went home, though. I don't know that it would."

“I think you’ll find we’re not the only ones to think so- ..but it’s stuck, I suppose. Like a pet you named as a small child, only to later regret it just a little.” She grinned. So, it could be worse, but Leia would forever hold to the fact, that it was really, quite a terrible name. But when the young woman commented it reminded her of something that her father might, in some way make similar choices, it sparked interest. “Oh?” Leia gave a small breath of a laugh, a touch amused. “Why’s that?” She couldn’t help but be a touch curious about where the woman had come from, and that would be a small indicator of her world, really.

“Dust.” Leia repeated, with a further curiosity in her tone. “It has something to do with ..protection?” She supposed, given she referenced there was less need for it, with little fighting. “And you’re right- it’s quite peaceful here as you’ve been told. But we have been met by conflicts beyond the doors, now and then-” Leia shrugged gently, in a manner that meant she understood, as best she could anyway, it was hard to be away from things familiar, and known - especially when they involved one’s safety, if that was what this was about. “You might-” Leia did voice. “There was once a door that led to my homeworld- but, it’s ..close on a year and I’ve not seen it since- and I’ve not really heard of it happening for many others, I’m afraid.” There really was no way at all to predict these doors, and she understood the frustration.

“What’s more likely is- the fact this ‘..world’ or whatever it is seems to have the ability to make gifts appear for it’s residents-” Yes, it was all very strange and odd sounding, and the sentience behind it was sometimes disturbing. “We’ve never really understood why, or how- but sometimes they may be items familiar to one's home- I know I’ve received more than one item that’s come from my world in my time here. You might find the same happens to you.”

"Most people seem fairly fond of it," she said after a moment. Though, she wasn't so sure if it was the name or the place. It was hard to tell with some people. She smiled, but it was more of a polite smile than one with any real joy behind it. Her feelings regarding her father were not positive. "He changed his own name to become part of our family, but he prefers to make himself seem more important than he is."

There was a quick nod at the word. "Not...exactly. It's more like a way to enhance attacks or defense. It powers the airships, technology, can make a city float in the sky with enough of it. But for me, my glyphs..." Here she formed one, nothing fancy, just a pale white snowflake type symbol floating in the air. She let it disappear after a minute. "They can use the Dust to do different things. But even just Myrtenaster can use the Dust for various things." She wasn't entirely surprised to discover that mostly they were peaceful and didn't need any sort of protection, but it was the first time people had suggested that things weren't always that way. Or that there was a possibility to find a door that went to her home. Unlikely, but possible. Weiss latched onto the idea of it.

"So it gives you things from home?" That was also new information. She wondered that no one else mentioned it. "I'd like to get that at least. I am find without too much else. Maybe my scroll. I'd prefer it over the phones."

"A lot of those people are likely the ones from the same world as Stark." Leia noted with a small, but good-natured roll of her eyes. Well sort of, it was a bit more complex with the whole alternate universes and such. Leia did get the impression she best not push for further on the particular topic of her father - there was a certain something, a polite sort of exchange like that gave off. Leia was familiar enough with it herself.

With a nod to show she took in, or understood the concept, to some degree - after all, use of the Force was a connection that extended one's senses in a way, enhanced abilities. Certainly not the same by any regard, but sure, it helped her understand the concept posed to her. "Beautiful-" Leia complimented of the floating symbol, though she supposed it was more important than just being pretty. "It's sounds valuable to you. Useful." She noted thoughtfully, though the uglier side of this place seemed to be surfacing more regularly in routine disappearances of residents, often it's gifts made by for it. Yes, even in Frank the Flamingo.

"You might find it does- either or both is quite possible." That wasn't a false hope, she didn't think? She'd regularly been gifted items from home - parts to craft a lightsaber, some of her Alderaanian belongings, her keepsake box. "I woke up one day to find my home to look just as part of it had in my homeworld. So there's no telling." She had no idea why, or how or ..well, anyway, it'd happened and she hoped the same would happen for this woman too.

"I'm Leia, by the way. I think we've had a brief exchange on the network." She noted, via Octane's little prank anyway - given the conversation was with someone she didn't know, Leia presumed this new face was the same person.

Weiss was glad that she wasn't the only one that questioned the name. Not that she guessed it mattered. It wouldn't change and she wasn't overly worried about it at any rate. Of all the things here, that was the least important. It was just a name.

"It's useful, yes. At least at home. Most people have different semblances. My sister and I have the same one, but we have different ways of using it." Her sister was more strict with her methods. She chided Weiss for her bad habits, but Weiss made those perceived negative habits work for her. She was capable of working with her weaknesses and making them strengths. Winter was in the military, so her way of doing things suited her and the Atlesian military.

"Did you? I think I'd rather the living quarters from Beacon to my home." She didn't want home. Home was a prison. A very pretty prison, but a prison all the same. She liked the haphazard room that she'd shared with her friends. It was more like home than anywhere else.

"Weiss," she said in return. "Yes. I think so. Octane is very...Octane sometimes." A pause. "It's a bit like if Jaune and Yang and Nora were all one person."

“That doesn’t sound so unfamiliar- ..there’s an ability in my world some possess and it can be very different between its users-” Sort of. Putting it rather basically, but she was trying to find a kind of common ground, right? “Depending on who wields it, and how they choose to.” Maybe it wasn’t so simple, and she could think of at least three people who’d likely attempt to correct her or elaborate, but only one of them had remained in Starklandia.

Leia nodded slowly, with a look that said it was as confusing as it sounded. “It’s happened for others- I think someone had their quarters from their Starship turn up.” She shrugged slowly. “But much like the doors, there’s no predicting it, or understanding it. You’ll find that’s more or less how this place works, as you may already know.” The whole inexplicable ..worldness, of Starklandia and it's 'abilities'. It wasn’t so much a matter of getting used to it, more just simply accepting that things just happened here. Strange things. “But if there’s something you’re hoping for from home- or Beacon ..that is, I hope this place favours that.” Leia offered genuinely.

“Weiss- a pleasure to meet you.” Right, there weren’t too many names to remember here. Plus such a unique one too. “He ..is a lot of person.” Leia agreed softly, mostly harmless, but there was no need to bully the new person - which is what Leia viewed his actions as, even if he likely didn’t. “Three people- ..that’s a lot of personality.” That did technically describe him rather well, he was a lot to cope with. “Your friends from your world, then?"

Weiss nodded. It made some sort of sense. She didn't know what people where she was from could do, but..."Do they have to unlock their powers or do they just have them?" Semblances weren't something everyone managed to unlock, but she knew that most of the people in school had. Except Jaune apparently. But once he did, she was thankful for it.

"What's a starship?" Because she wasn't sure she fully grasped all the things here. She knew about airships. She'd flown in those and jumped out of them. But the landings were perfectly safe. So it wasn't really an issue. Maybe if her rooms from Beacon showed up, her friends would show up and she wouldn't be on her own. But it was just as likely that they'd stay home and she'd continue to exist on her own.

She offered a smile. He was a lot of person, but he'd unfortunately started to grow on her. It was one of those things. She wasn't overly surprised by it anymore. "Yes. He has Yang's habit of bad jokes, Jaune's habit of being Jaune, and Nora's loudness. Also they'd probably both get along too well and then it would be even louder and with more dangerous stunts. I mean. Not that we all don't land fine because of our weapons or semblances. Except for Jaune. He doesn't land well. Someone always has to make sure he doesn't hurt himself too bad."

“A little of both- I think.” Leia mused, not seeming confused by Weiss’s question, but contemplative. “Well, as far as I know ..one is born with the ability to use these powers, but they must be taught.” She was basing this on both her experience and Luke’s. Neither had known the potential they had in the Force. It did clarify certain unexplained things, and experiences they had both had growing up. “Theoretically ..one can live without knowing they have the Force, as it’s called- if they were untrained, or never made aware of it.” For such an incredible power, it really was so strange. “If that makes sense?”

Ah. Those unfamiliar with space travel were not uncommon here, if anything it was stranger to have traveled the stars in Starklandia. “Starships are common in my galaxy, they allow for interplanetary travel. It’s not the same of every person who’s come here, but where I’m from there are many inhabited planets, hundreds of species and cultures-” She didn’t want to go on for too long and bore the woman, but at least she could give her an idea of of things, if she wished.

Leia couldn’t help but smile as she listened, perhaps she didn’t know these people, but Weiss was certainly painting a picture of their personalities, through which her fondness for her friends shone, or so Leia thought. “Needing someone to make certain he doesn’t hurt himself too badly, sounds familiar.” Octane generally meant well, as far as she knew but, from what she’d learned of the man, he did indeed have a penchant for caring less about his well being and more about the thrill.

It made sense. Everyone, as far as she knew, had a semblance. Some just never unlocked theirs or it took longer for them to do so. Weiss had unlocked hers early enough. But she’d also been determined to learn to use it. “Are there schools? We go to the school where we live and then we are able to choose which of the four schools we’d like to attend. I grew up in Atlas, but I went to Beacon.” She’d have gone anywhere to get further from her father, but Beacon was the best. In her opinion.

Weiss wasn’t bored by the information. She was just curious. They’d never learned of other planets or other places that existed outside of their own. If anything did exist there, she’d lived her entire life without knowing it. She wondered that Atlas hadn’t looked into it or built ships for it. “I don’t think we have other planets. Just the moon and that’s been broken into pieces since I can remember.” She paused. “Do you have Faunus there? People with animal traits? That’s really the only difference of species I know of. I mean, of course the Grimm come in many different packages. I’ve fought just about all of them, but they don’t have souls. The Grimm.”

“He does seem to have a lot of questionable ideas.” But she hoped he wouldn’t hurt himself again. Because she wasn’t Jaune and she couldn’t speed up anyone’s healing. “Most recently involving rockets.”
