WHO: Klaus Hargreeves and Weiss Schnee
WHAT: Introductions
WHERE: Around Town
WHEN: Today

Five had come and gone, Diego too, and Ben - Klaus wasn't sure he was ever going to get over Ben. Sure he'd come on his own, alone for the first time in his life it felt like, but then Ben had arrived, after he'd done his seance and Klaus had felt like he'd done it - but whatever it was he'd done hadn't been enough to keep his brother there, any of them. Or to get the rest of them into town. Maybe it was his fault, maybe not, he didn't know, all he knew was that the desire to get high was a constant voice in the back of his head, constantly butting up against that part of him that knew he was better when his head was clear.

It was a difficult line he'd been walking, and he'd let himself pull away from the people he'd normally have leaned on in other times. Instead rushing through the doors often, taking more and more risks and telling himself again and again he was alone.

He'd just come back through the doors, a shout following him through before the door closed and panting after he'd managed to evade a shop keeper who was none too pleased with his theft. But like always once the door closed behind him whatever had been behind it seemed to be gone. He breathed out a sigh, the rush of the experience already beginning to fade, but he needed to unload before he made his way through again, so he started back toward his house.

"Oh," He breathed when he saw someone he didn't think he'd met yet - but in fairness he hadn't been about meeting anyone since his brother's had gone, so it was more his fault than hers. Maybe she was new, maybe not. "Hi." He lifted his chin just a little in a bit as he greeted her. "You wouldn't happen to be looking for me, would you?" He grinned at her, affecting his normal sort of teasing tone, entirely certain that was not the case.

Weiss had not, in fact, been looking for him. Whoever he was. She didn't know everyone yet. She knew a very select few and she didn't mind it because she was still sort of missing the people back home and it was harder than she thought to put herself out into making new friends when she didn't exactly trust a lot of people. But most of the people here had been nice, so she guessed there was probably more good than annoying. She'd done her best to avoid Galen since their last encounter because she was over his attitude.

She'd been trying to come every so often to see if she couldn't find a door that opened up to the mines or maybe a dust shop. So far, she hadn't been lucky. But she was going to keep trying.

Weiss studied the man in front of her, not entirely certain what to say at first, so she simply corrected her posture. "No." Because she wasn't going to lie about it. "I don't even know you." Which was the truth, but she guessed she could deal with that. "I'm Weiss." Since they were already in the middle of a very unusual introduction. At least this one didn't involve a slight explosion or Octane skidding past her. She could deal with this.

"Well no, but you should," Klaus informed her, despite her insistence that she wasn't looking for him, or even knew him. Which settled that for him - they hadn't met, not that he thought they had, he had a feeling he'd have probably remembered her if that had been the case. But who knew, that wasn't the point right then, they didn't know each other yet, but here they were fixing that.

"Weiss," He repeated, "How interesting." He didn't think there'd been some other her at any point either, at least not as far as he was aware. "I'm Klaus." He told her with a flourish of his arm, before he was hefting his bag up a little higher on his shoulder. "Procurer of interesting items and supplies." He said patting the bag that he had with him like that proved it.

"So you're new then?" He guessed, since they didn't know each other. People didn't tend to be in town for long without knowing of him at least a little bit, he'd done a fairly good job of making himself useful since he'd arrived.

She almost asked if she should before pressing her lips together to keep from doing so. But once he said his name, she knew she'd heard it before. It was one thing to know a name and another to put a name to a face. She studied him for a moment before crossing her arms over her chest.

"You sure like the word interesting." What that meant? She wasn't entirely certain. It just seemed like the thing to comment on. "But yes. I'm new. New enough anyway." She'd been there for exactly...a week and five days now. She hadn't gotten any less homesick. She wasn't sure if she would.

"What, exactly, is interesting about the things you get as opposed to the things everyone else gets?"

"It's such an interesting word, though. Don't you think?" Klaus grinned as she called out that particular overuse, Klaus was many things but a man of a great many words was not one of them. Now he'd have to make a point to use it more often, just because.

He nodded though when she agreed that she was new, "And how are you liking what we've done with the place? I mean it's not exactly the hottest joint around but you should have seen it when we first arrived." He told her, and not even he had arrived during the worst of it, but there had been leaps and bounds made since then, and randomly appearing bodies of water - so that was something.

"You mean these things," He said peering into his bag looking for something that seemed particularly interesting to show off, and he pulled out a bag of what were most likely some sort of snack, "See, like this. Interesting right?" He'd never seen anything like them, and well that was the point wasn't it? "Point is, I get things."

Weiss rolled her eyes. She was surrounded by people who took all their social cues from Jaune and Yang. This was the worst thing that she'd ever encountered. If this had been some sort of afterlife, she would be certain that it was the worst place. Then again, she'd take this over an afterlife stuck with her father, so there was that.

"It's different from home. The technology is severely lacking, but I guess that's not its fault." She'd at least managed to gain a better understanding of the phone and had spent more time than she cared to admit making sure she'd figured it out. But coming from Atlas, she was used to the high grade of technology. Especially in medicine. She hoped she wouldn't have to worry about any injuries here because she wasn't sure she wanted to experience the low-tech version of a hospital.

She glanced into the bag, not really sure how to react to them. "I'm not sure that's what I'd call it, but sure." But it was definitely...something. "Okay." She was still getting used to the idea of taking things without paying. She was curious about a way to get money so she could actually pay for it. Maybe she could get her hands on her father's money and spend it. It was half stealing, but if there was anything Jacques Schnee deserved, it was to lose money. Which was also why she'd steal from her father's company if necessary.

"Have you ever come across like this?" She pulled Mrytenaster out of its sheath, pointing at the various containers which held various colored dust. "It's called Dust. My-" She paused. "The Schnee Dust Company containers usually just has SDC on them and a snowflake pattern." It was the same pattern on the back of her jacket, but she wasn't going to point that out.

"You think so?" Klaus asked, curious now, maybe she was one of those Stark types with a lab all her own and whatever sort of tech that people like that had. Klaus didn't much care about that sort of thing as long as he had a roof over his head and food to eat and maybe a light to see when he needed one. But beyond that? Well, that wasn't his realm. "So where are you from then? Same place as anyone else around here?"

To be fair there was more in the bag than snacks but it was the most interesting and right on top. Thanks to the spell Bill had put on it it went down a lot further than one might think at first glance, which made it perfect for what he did. "Well I've got other things that you might think to call interesting at some point too." He added.

But what was more interesting than snacks and anything else he'd gotten that day was what she showed off, a sword of some sort by the looks of it, one with little canisters at the hilt. "Hmmm," He said thoughtfully thinking about whether or not it was something he'd seen before, "Not sure I've heard anyone call it dust, but maybe I've seen it before. I don't know for certain. I don't think I have any just lying around though, but I can keep an eye out for some if you want." He offered.

"Yes. I do." She shook her head, though, at his third question. "I think I'm the only one from where I'm from." A pause. "Atlas is the short version. I was born there. I went to school in Vale. But overall, Remnant. We were in Atlas before I showed up here, though." She frowned slightly. It hadn't ended well. She still didn't know what was coming.

She wasn't sure what exactly she considered interesting in that moment, so it was entirely possible he was correct. Right now, however, she was a little more interested in the possibility of finding Dust. Just in case. Just to see if she could get more of it for her Rapier. "Okay," she said after a moment. "I'm going to keep looking, but if you find it, let me know. Maybe it'll be more likely to let people who aren't from where I'm from get to where I'm from. It's harder to use Myrtenaster to its full extent without it. Excellent fencing skills will really only do so much if we ever have to fight something." Not that she was certain they'd have to, but anything could happen, right? "Unless you guys don't have to deal with that sort of stuff."

She was quiet for a moment. "If you do find it, though, be careful. The Atlesian military isn't something to mess with."

"You and I have that in common then," Klaus told her, though it was something that tugged at something inside him to say it, but it was the way of things now - he was the only one from his home here now. "Hmmm don't think I've heard of anything like that before." But well why would he if she was from her own world just like he was from his. "So you were a student? Or was that a past tense thing?"

He nodded when she asked to him to let her know if he'd seen any. "Sure sure, I'll keep my eyes peeled and let you know if I happen across any at some point." It might happen, he'd found all manner of things since he'd started gathering things for people, things he'd never seen or heard of before. "I mean.... not really. "He shrugged when she asked about fighting, "There was that alien invasion thing, but well - it wasn't here in town, it was through the doors." He explained, "There doesn't seem to be much need for fighting here. Between people with powers and people with too much skill at fighting it's not really the sort of thing people do here." He added.

The warning to be careful was interesting though, unexpected as well. "Military? I've got a bit of experience with the military myself, I know how to talk to a fellow soldier." He assured her with a cocky sort of grin.

It seemed sad. To be alone. It seemed that most of the people here had someone from home. Weiss supposed that it wasn't really surprising that there were others who were here alone. She wished the rest of RWBY would show up. She'd even stomach Nora or Jaune at this point. "Past tense. After Beacon Academy fell...well, that was the end of school. We were made Huntresses anyway, though. So it worked out. Huntsman for Jaune and Ren."

She was at least happy that if it came up, she'd be able to get some. She hoped anyway. She'd have to find a way to pay him back for it if she did. Maybe she could find things to pawn or maybe she'd figure something else out. She had no idea what to do still outside of what she'd been doing, which was why she did her best to help out with getting supplies right now. Even if it didn't quite sit well. "Well, then at least I can stay in practice anyway. If nothing else. My glyphs can probably be used for other things."

She studied him for a moment. "Also don't mention my name. General Ironwood's decided we're criminals because we disagreed with him. Best to just pretend to be traveling. And dress warm because I don't know if people from other worlds have auras to protect them from the cold if you end up in the Tundra. Hopefully you'll just find a dust shop, though. Or one of the warehouses."

Huntress, well that was new and different, Klaus thought he probably liked the sound of it though he didn't really know what it meant for her where she was from. "So you go around.... hunting things?" He guessed, "Well before you ended up here, I mean."

Klaus nodded, some people really did seem to be all about that fighting lifestyle, it was beyond him really - he had no patience for it in the past, mostly because he hadn't had patience for just about anything when he was constantly high. And now well - fighting just wasn't his thing. He'd done a little bit of it when he'd been young because he wanted their father's approval, once it became obvious that was never going to be a thing Klaus found other means of gaining that flush of success he so craved. These days well.... he was thinking more and more about getting high. It was all a matter of being able to look Bill in the face and ask for it if it ever actually came to that though. But he was getting off track they were talking about fighting and here he was letting his mind turn to other things. "Glyphs? That part of your ... abilities?" He asked, curious what she meant by it, if it was the sword or the little canisters or something else entirely.

"Sounds like there's a lot going on where you're from," He said when she warned him about mentioning her name, as if Klaus was the sort to stop and ask questions of the people he happened to meet. Though in truth there was very little meeting that happened through the doors for him. Mostly he was a grab and go sort of guy. "I can probably figure out a spell for that," He assured her, "I'll have to ask Bill about it though, but little cold never really bothered me. But yeah, shop is probably the best bet."

“We protect the people of Remnant from the Grimm.” She was aware that most people didn’t understand what that meant, though. “The creatures of Grimm are monsters. They are drawn to negative emotions.” She shrugged. There was more to it, but there was enough that they could be there for a while to explain how many types. She still felt uncomfortable with the well in town.

Weiss understood trying to get your father’s approval. She also understood the shift from that to not liking her father. But her family seemed to compete with one another. She’d avoided thinking about Jacques Schnee as much as possible. But it was impossible to forget him entirely. “It’s my semblance. My sister Winter can also make glyphs. It’s sort of a family thing.” Just to show rather than try to explain, she made a simple glyph appear in the air between them. The snowflake shape of it similar to the pattern on the back of her jacket as well. It didn’t require dust, but certain things required them. After a moment she let it disappear. “Dust can make them more powerful or at least help with various types of attacks.”

“Yeah. There’s always a lot going on, but there’s nothing I can do about it here.” Which was frustrating because she wanted to be there to help. There was so much happening. At first she thought he could do magic, but when he mentioned someone else, she wasn’t sure. “There’s magic to protect you from cold?”
