Remus was having fun. More fun than he ever expected to have again given where he'd come from. There was a part of him that sometimes still felt guilty, and still had him staring off at nothing every great once in a while, because he thought maybe he ought to be trying to find a way back to where he'd come from. But that part of him was much smaller now, less frequent to surface. There were no guarantees in life. Remus had learned that a very, very long time ago as a small boy bitten by a werewolf. He'd seen it first hand when his best friends were murdered, the love of his life thrown in prison, and he was left utterly alone. Now he was here, in this strange world, and had been living a beautiful life with the same love of his life (just younger), and he'd learned to stop feeling bad about that. Because even if they could go home, there was no guarantee they'd retain what they'd learned here, and if that was the case then Remus would be right back where he was, with no proof of Sirius' innocence.
So that meant they had to seize the day, or something. Cherish what they had and enjoy it because it wasn't guaranteed tomorrow. Maybe a little bit guaranteed. Some of them had been in town for a year. Chances were they'd still be there tomorrow. But, the sentiment remained valid.
Remus liked the hand thing. He liked any little quirky fidgety thing Sirius did around him because he knew part of it revolved around wanting his attention. So he followed along, shifting and bending his fingers when he needed too. Ah, how he loved him so.
When the door opened, Remus certainly wasn't expecting what they were faced with. His eyes immediately took in the wall to wall chocolate bars and sweets. It wasn't very often that Remus Lupin was left dumbfounded. Mark it down, folks, he was actually stunned into stupidity. "Wha.. How.. Where--" His gaze landed upon a sign that actually said they were in Chocolate World. No more hand fidgety game. Remus clutched Sirius' hand and pulled him through into the room. "I .. I don't know.. where to start?"
