WHO: Weiss Schnee & Starkiller (b/c the numbers said it must be so)
WHEN: February 17th
WHERE: Outside to start
WHAT: Weiss is trying to figure out her life a little
RATING: IDK

______________

Weiss couldn't exactly call herself happy right now. She was meant to find herself a new calling, a job in this place, but what that meant, she didn't know. Trying to find herself in a new place seemed nearly impossible with her identity so tightly wrapped up in who she was back home. At first she'd just been a Schnee, then the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company - something that had meant so much to her because she was going to change the company, to make it better and bring her family a better reputation - and finally a huntress. None of those things mattered here. Not really. Not to these people. But it felt empty here. She knew she was supposed to find a new job, but there wasn't anything she felt she wanted to do. It all seemed so...disappointing.

She was low on Dust, low on anything even resembling home. At least she still had Myrtenaster. She could do simple glyphs without expending much by way of dust. It was simple enough. But anything serious would have required having back ups.

She sighed as she explored the town, left hand resting on Myrtenaster just in case she needed it. She'd have to find someone that was worth their weight in fencing to continue with training. At least someone that knew anything about fighting. Until then, she would have to force herself to find new and interesting ways of training without anyone else.

Part of her had considered the very real possibility of going to Octane for help, but the fact that he would take so much glee from the interaction was enough to keep Weiss from following through. He'd also probably try to accuse her of thinking he was cute again and she'd have to sigh as she put up with it because she'd have brought it entirely on herself. Still, she didn't think she'd never talk to him again. For one, he reminded her a little of people from home. Enough of Yang to make him worth the annoyance. Enough of Jaune to make her hate that homesickness would end in her spending any amount of time with him.

She decided, after a long moment of consideration, that what she really needed was coffee, so she was definitely going to get some and hope that she could even get any if she didn't have a job to do so.

Ugh.

Mostly, Galen didn't care. When the situation came to, he'd choose himself or even Leia every time. Starkiller didn't apologize to anyone about it. Though that could even have been the Sith training showing there. Galen did as he liked ninety percent of the time.

Seeing as Weiss picked up his notion and started helping, Galen paid little attention to her and what she grabbed still being focused on his own tasks. "That's nice." Galen said unimpressed by her proclaimed notion of theft. "I cut down droves of storm troopers just because my master told me." Glancing over his shoulder at her as he waved his hand holding the coffee cup as more items were pushed into his cart from the shelves. "Don't confuse my telling you these things as anything further than friendly education." Galen said. "Talk to me in a month or so, when you're not suddenly gone again. People disappear just as fast as they appear here - you could be gone tomorrow." His coffee being finished he set it on a shelf leaving it behind as he continued down the snack aisle.

"We do." Galen said picking up a box of Twinkies. Processed, and delicious. Cracking open the box he took out a golden treat before tossing it to Weiss before retrieving one for himself. Tearing the wrapper he gathered more snacks and tossing them into the cart while snacking. "Everyone has their ways on procuring supplies." Galen commented. "Klaus for example is very creative where Nyx has a pile of gold coins that he sells to a pawn broker for whatever world he's in currency. Once having that he buys what he needs." Looking to Weiss he smirked. "I just take what I want." Then he stuffed the remaining of the Twinkie in his mouth.

His words made her frown. She'd just come from a similar situation. People ordered to take them down, to arrest them. "There's a lot of that going around, it seems." Her tone sounded unenthusiastic and tired at the same time. "You'd fit in at Atlas." Which wasn't a compliment to say the least. She sipped her coffee, wishing she was back with her Team or at least that they were here. Even if it wasn't the right thing to wish for.

"It'd be nice if I was gone tomorrow, but I doubt I'll be that lucky. There's kind of a whole war to fight and I'm stuck here." And all she wanted was to be back there. Even if it meant dying. Not because she wanted to die, but at least if she did, she could die knowing she'd done the right thing.

She was beginning to think that Nyx had the right idea, but she didn't exactly have anything except her jewelry to sell and she didn't really want to sell it. So she'd have to deal with the concept of stealing and forgive herself for it later.

Stopping, Galen leaned on his cart. "Do you feel put out, Weiss?" He asked, not actually wanting an answer. "Here is your reality," He gestured with his hand. "This is it. Regardless if you like it or not, want it or not, ready for it or not." Galen was annoyed, but that was par for the course. He was just easily annoyed. "This is just the reality of the situation and you just have to make what you can with it. We all come from somewhere being in the middle of something." He pointed at her. "That master of mine, also is the one who stabbed me in my back," He lifted his shirt to reveal the opposite side of the scarred over wound from the lightsaber going clear through him. "And then jettisoned me into space. Cold, dark, space." He said. "Some of us are here because they're dead - and some of us are brought here amidst a war."

Growling annoyed he turned from her. "So yes. You may be gone tomorrow, but who says you're going back to where you came from." He snapped. "Some of us have lost people here because they just suddenly vanished one day." Which was too many for Galen. Barbara especially hurt.

"Now if you're just going to whine about it, go back through the door, if not get supplies and do your part." For being so selfish, he was surprisingly pro-Starklandia.

Weiss flinched without meaning to, peering down at her cart. She grew quiet after a moment, not entirely sure what else to do. She had half a mind to leave and never look back. She closed her eyes, focusing on the feeling of breathing because she wasn't in Atlas in her home and she had been through too much already.

"I'm sorry." She wasn't sorry for wanting to go home or wanting to get back to what she needed to do. She wasn't ever going to be sorry for that. She didn't share more about what was happening back home. Not about General Ironwood deciding to arrest them or the Ace Operatives falling into line and fighting them all despite the order being bullshit. Nothing was stable or okay and they weren't going to be okay going forward.

"I don't want your apology. For someone who seems to be in conflict and combat - you're awfully short sighted." Starkiller stated. "We all want to go home and people are trying to find a way - but sobbing about it or a pity party does no one any good all the way around." Staring at the shelves he paid no attention to Weiss in the immediate. "If my future is what I saw - I'm supposed to the catalyst of a rebellion against a tyrannical empire." Looking over. "You think I can do that here?" Again he gestured to the grocery store. "Point being, I have to make do with what I have and I can. I have to move forward anyway for the day I may return."

Taking boxes off the shelves he looked more snack items as if he was trying to decide if he should go with one or the other, but ultimately grabbed a bunch and tossing them into the cart.

Bracing a hand on his cart he looked to her. "What will it be, Weiss? Pity or action?" He questioned. "Because no one here faults your want to go home, but you wont find any pity amidst people who have been her as long as they have and lost people in a snap."

She knew what she had to do back home. It was just the fact that there was nothing if they didn't have the Maidens and the rest of it. They couldn't kill Salem. But they had to figure out a way to stop her. Somehow.

She wanted to argue that she wasn't sobbing or throwing a pity party. She was just expressing herself. But she was tired and annoyed and none of this was going to help her. She considered that her next adventure would definitely not be with Galen. But she'd deal with that later.

She didn't reply to his question, instead choosing to put more food in her cart. She had questions and things to say, but she'd rather talk to someone else. And once she was done, she would practice with her rapier and leave her feelings to that.

Galen watched the woman for a moment, but ultimately shrugged. There wasn't any true desire to reconcile their debate - mostly out of disregard or care. Galen wasn't entirely sure if the girl was going to be around any longer than the rest.

Returning to his task at hand and loading the cart with as much essentials as he could he ultimately turned towards Weiss and nudged. "Lets go. I'll introduce you to Peter and Clint." He started with his cart where they had come in from. "Bringing in this load of stuff should keep people going for some time in comforts."

Regardless if she followed, he was done - and heading to see Peter. Being a new fan of pizza, he knew that if he wanted more that he should help keep the man in ingredients.
