RATING: F for Fantasy
It wasn’t the first time it had happened, it probably wouldn’t be the last either? News tended to trickle through gradually, but still quickly enough when groups of people vanished at once, mostly from those who had lost someone, it never took so long for news to travel through most of the town, really. Just as always there seemed nothing to forewarn or herald it, and no knowing who it would be - much like arrivals. Sometimes friends left, family, people you’d grown close to that it’d only been possible to meet through the magic of this world. Leia always did her best not to be ruled by fear, or the threat of loss - but it was hard not to keep those thoughts at bay a wave of people vanishing occurred; everything could change in an instant, and be lost.
For Galen, it’d been Babs. Someone he’d connected so strongly to, and Leia thought it clear they shared a mutual bond, basically family, which was more or less what was the done thing here - from their world or not, people gravitated toward others, created found families. It wasn’t really that he was closed up over her vanishing, at least Leia didn’t think so. These things weren’t always easy to talk through, maybe it was just that he needed time - and she was willing to give it until he was ready. Thankfully he didn’t distance himself with the grief he was feeling, and Leia was there to offer him comfort, something physical and grounding when everything here seemed to spin, to turn things on their head.
She’d woken first, content enough to simply rest there with him, nestled close until he stirred too, giving him plenty of time to wake properly in the comfortable bed they shared. “We’re going to go through the doors today.” Leia announced with a kiss to his cheek, and before she could get too comfortable and it would somehow end up being the afternoon, she slipped off to the shower first. She dressed, encouraging Galen to do the same as she headed to the kitchen, and went about something for breakfast; the pair of them taking their time in doing so, for a leisurely morning.
It was all a bit spontaneous, but she threw together a basket with various snacks, foods, wine along with a throw. A picnic basket of sorts, nothing too complicated - just motivation enough to wander through the doors and soak up some sunshine. Plus, they needed to make the most of the days, tomorrow evening there'd be a full moon in Starklandia.
Their usual method was to peer through various doors, looking for an environment that best suited what they were looking for. Today? It was something beautiful, hopefully warm and meadowy? Something you’d see on a postcard that’d be perfect to lay out a picnic blanket, right? As they stepped through the doors, it was if they’d hit the jackpot first go; a picturesque countryside stretched out before them, the sun quite warm but not oppressive in it’s heat, a pleasant breeze carrying the scent of wildflowers.
The dirt path they’d arrived on split in multiple directions; in the distance up ahead, was what looked to be a simple village of sorts, with quaint, thatched roof cottages gathered. If they ventured on toward the right, there were the fringes of a dense, green forest, cool and shady, and quite beautiful. The left and an ever greater distance from where they stood, was a tall castle-type structure, looked to be made entirely of stone. It all ..seemed a little eerily quiet, be that a false intuition, or a push from the Force, of sorts? As always since the werewolf situation, for Leia no door was now approached unarmed, but she wasn’t certain there was any need to be alarmed, was there? Still- strangely quiet or not, this place was too beautiful to pass up.
“This- seems the place? It’s just stunning.” She wanted it to be, it was just so beautiful, so peaceful. She looked to Galen, who always would have that more heightened and sharpened ability to better test his surroundings.
