WHO: Tony Stark and Nebula
WHAT: An adventure through the doors.
WHERE: It might be an alien planet.
WHEN: Saturday, Feb 1

Tony hadn’t been all that picky when choosing a door, given that his first option when opening it didn’t involve being underwater or just the deep, black, vastness of space. No, when he opened it up, it just looked a bit like the bustle of a large city — both somehow futuristic and primitive at the same time.

It was an alien planet, he could tell that much since there seemed to be a few different sorts of races wandering around what seemed like some kind of night market. It worked out well, considering the company he’d picked for the night.

“This is going to be great for the learning translation program I’ve been writing in my spare time,” Tony told Nebula, adjusting his sunglasses even as he watched the road ahead of him and the words popping up on his frames. FRIDAY was taking in the ambient noises of foreign conversation around him and trying to piece it together into something knowable. “So, hey,” he went on, ever snappy with conversation, and more than willing to carry on more than one at a time. “Lucky you for not getting stuck with anyone you’d have had to murder last week.”

She was glad that Tony had let her come with him on this trip, though she knew he could be a capable warrior there would always be a part of her that felt a little like she needed to make up for what she had not been strong enough to keep from happening in the past. So she was at his side as he chose a door and they'd stepped through together.

"Indeed, there is not much need of something like that in the town." And that Tony was working on something like that suggested that he did not exactly have enough to take up his time in town. Or maybe she was wrong it was hard to say, Tony was a man who always seemed to have a lot going on, too much in her estimation. But nevertheless they were here and he could test things out in a place like this.

"Yes, it would have been very bad if I had been." She agreed. "Gamora was stuck with someone, a strange man I did not care for." She admitted, had she not realized that nearly every one in town seemed to be stuck to someone she might just have gone and stabbed him for stealing her sister. But she'd seen it, the chaos it caused before it finished. "I am glad it is over."

Just because a person was capable, didn't mean that they didn't still sometimes need other people. Tony didn't care for the doors all the time, and he really didn't care for the idea of anyone going alone. Not even just himself, just anyone in town. Plus, he just liked hanging out with Nebula. She was calm and steadfast and sometimes it just felt nice to be with someone who didn't make a big scene out of everything. Plus, right now more than ever, it felt like a good time to be with his family. Natasha was gone again, and he wasn't sure how to feel about it, considering how often that seemed to happen here. Natasha and Peter both never quite seemed to stick. He didn't understand the how or whys of it, and it bothered him.

Tony didn't plan on talking about it, though.

"Maybe not, but you never know. It could come in handy for things like this -- missions through the Doors. You know." And maybe it was true, he didn't have enough to take up his time, but Tony had rarely had trouble finding things to fill it, even if they weren't always useful.

"Pretty sure we're all glad it's over," Tony said with a half smile. "I know I am."

"Yes," She agreed nodding, through the doors she had a feeling it would come in handy from time to time, though she had not spent much time interacting with the people of the other worlds they'd come across, instead preferring to stick with those she knew from town. As always she was still not very good at branching out, she had found those she considered her own and was happy enough with that, she did not feel the need to add more. "Will you share it with others?" She asked him, Tony himself wasn't always eager to go through the doors, though Nebula often approved of such caution when it came to Tony.

She gave him a smile, it was small, as all her smiles were but Tony was one that she allowed herself to have them around after everything they had shared. "Yes, I am certain you were relieved to be set free." She agreed. Just as she knew her sister was glad to have been untethered from the man who she had been tied to and all the others in town.

It was for the best she had not had to endure such a thing, Nebula was not entirely certain she or the person she would have been tied to could have survived such a thing. "What is it you are searching for today? Something in particular?" She asked him.

Adding more people to their circle wasn't really Tony's plan, at least not when it came to the doors (although, he had found Nebula that way, so maybe ... well. Who knew) so much as being able to properly communicate. A place like this seemed like it might go on the barter and trading system, which would be infinitely easier with proper communication under their belts. "Why wouldn't I share it?" He asked. "It's basically just information, and that should always be free." Not all of his designs were, but he'd figure out a way to make this accessible.

It always felt a little it like winning, whenever he got Nebula to smile that secret little smile of hers. It was small, but it was there and that was a lot more than he might have been able to say when they'd first met. So it made him smile too, wide and bright.

"Not really anything," he admitted to what he was searching for. "After being stuck with someone else for a week... I don't know. Things just start to get claustrophobic in that little town. I just wanted to stretch my legs a little." The market was interesting though, and he didn't mind pausing to check things out here and there.
