"You're the least scary person ever," Sirius said, but it wasn't really in protest because he got it. He did. He knew that there was a time in the future when mistrust was the most prominent thing amongst the group of them, even though they'd all once been family. Closer than, maybe, because they'd picked and chosen. Not like real families did, Sirius was more than well aware.
But he was nervous. Because James had said he was looking for Lily, for his kid and that meant he was from the future too. Sirius' future, anyway. And what if he had been James' secret keeper? For all he protested he would never, ever have anything to do with the demise of his very best friend --
What if it turned out he did?
Sirius wasn't certain he could stomach it. But in true Gryffindor fashion, he threw those cautions to the back of his mind and all but grabbed at Remus' hand in a death grip too, before letting go and running toward James and his messy hair (and a pair of glasses, perfect on his face and unbroken like the ones Remus carried in his sack). "James! Oi!"
Sirius lacked subtlety, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing in a time like this. Wandering up with a wary caution would probably be all the more frightening. Well, Sirius was aware of that.
