No point in asking if he was okay - clearly he wasn't. Beverly didn't usually have time for stupid things like questions with a clear answer, so, she focused on what was right in front of her. Which looked to be a guy obviously having himself a heartbreak, a fissure cracking down the middle.

She heard of people disappearing - blipping into this little pocket dimension and then blipped out again without a trace. If it happened to any of her own, she'd be just as devastated so she lacked any judgment about the obvious state of upset.
