Sure waking up to find that he was for some reason attached to a wizard nearly half his age hadn't been on the top ten best ways to start his day list that Peter most certainly did not keep somewhere in the back of his mind, it hadn't actually been on the top ten worst ways to start his day list either. So that was something to consider. Not that it made it any easier to deal with knowing that for some strange reason he found himself tethered to Sirius, things had gotten very strange very quickly, and considering his history with strange well - Peter thought he was handling the whole thing admirably.

Tonight though, well they were at the bar, because even tied together like this people still needed to eat and Peter wasn't about to just throw all of this away because he was mildly inconvenienced. So he was doing his best, passing out drinks and making food and hoping that at the very least, they could all just spend a little time there that evening and pretend like things weren't entirely fucked.

"Nothing like a couple of drinks and something good to eat to at least help make you feel like things aren't quite as bad as they might seem." And certainly he'd lucked out he thought, but like John had said, things could always be worse.

They were cute, the two of them. Claire and Pete fit together like they belonged and sometimes John was just happy to watch from the sidelines, because he was -- less convinced that he fit quite as well. Not because he didn't want to, or because he ever felt uncomfortable about their situation, but because he'd sort of wormed his way in through trial and error with someone else and it wasn't easy to forget.

Today though, he didn't want to sit on the sidelines and watch. It'd been days since he'd had the pleasure of the both of their company and he was, admittedly, missing it in a way that made him positive that what they were up to wasn't just cute and casual. He missed feeling a little overheated between two people, or being the bracket in a really good sentence.

But here they all were. "Lookit you two," he said, sidling up as far as he was allowed when Gamora was somewhere behind him, doing her own thing (they were good at that, the two of them - minding their own bloody business even while being attached). "A proper picture. Room for another?"

Claire would have hated to hear that John wasn't convinced and would have made it her mission to convince him that he fit just right. Because sure they fit without him and Claire had seen more than enough to know he and Peter fit without her and it was okay, it was good that they could be parts and separates and wholes.

And it was even better when John was there with them. Because it wasn't about to be anyone else, that would be rude so the moment she saw movement out of the corner of her eye she knew who it would be. Anyone else intruding would be interrupting but never with him. "Always," Claire said happily as she turned her head to rest her forehead on his and all their heads just kind of met in the middle.

"And you, I love you just as crazy," she murmured low and soft as she rubbed her fingers against his scalp.

What had been a pretty nice reunion was made all the better by the addition of John, and Peter felt like things were right once more when he joined them and Claire pulled him closer to fit against them so they all met together in the middle again. He and Claire had happened almost without meaning to, after he'd brought her home, but john had been a surprise addition to their pairing. One that made them that much better. LIke they'd just been waiting for him to find his place there with them.

Just like they had been now. "There you are," Peter hummed a pleased sound when John was within their sphere once again. "This, this is what I've been missing." He said with a softly contented sigh as he fit an arm around John while Claire leaned into him, his other hand on her hip, needing them both right there with him again.

"Can't say I'm a big fan of what this week has been doing to us," He admitted, though he doubted it was the sort of thing that truly needed to be confessed, "But I'm glad we all managed to make it out tonight, I don't think I'd have lasted much longer."

Crazy amounts of love yous, eh? John leaned in and stole a kiss from the both of them, just because he could.

They were saps, honestly. Not that John was ever opposed to romancing, even if it was the sort of thing he didn't often allow himself. Not back home anyway. Nothing had been nearly as smooth in his life after he'd fucked it all up with Kit and his life sent her packing. Everything always ended in blood and tragedy. And here -- well. If the biggest inconvenience he ran into was just being attached to some other person for a while? Well. He could wait that sort of shit out for the good things that were somehow still untarnished even with his presence.

He slung his arms around their shoulders and let out a little amused hum. "Would have withered away without?" John teased Peter, glancing over his shoulder across the room. Everyone was standing around in awkward ways where they were trying to be as casual as possible and it wasn't quite working. "You'll make it yet, I think," he decided.

Claire didn't mind that she was the most demonstrative of the three, she was also the most emotionally mature so it figured. Besides they were both very good at making her feel very cared for and appreciated and really that was what mattered.

It was what they'd all been missing and Claire hummed, her ankles crossed behind Peter's back as she leaned heavily into John. They took their time to exchange kisses because it'd been a minute okay and kissing two people at once was impractical and too wet to be socially acceptable or that pleasant.

Bucky was so close to her back doing his best to be invisible but the whole thing was just not her jam. "Count yourselves lucky, if me and him get any further than this away, it's an ouch," she said as she made a face.

"I don't know, it's felt very touch and go for a while." Peter said with as much solemnity as he could muster in the face of John's teasing, but he broke out into a grin when he finished of course spoiling the whole effect really. But the point remained, he'd missed them both. Sure they were both still here, and both right here at the moment, and the town wasn't so big that he couldn't shout them down across town if he really wanted, but it was the quite moments he missed.

A night in just the three of them, keeping them close without fear of dragging some other unwilling someone into their pile. Of being able to kiss either of them when he liked without thinking about a wizard who was too young for Peter's taste to be watching him try and romance his two favorites. So yes, wasting away felt right.

"Best not to push it then, don't like you getting those ouches," Peter said with a frown of his own but kissed the face she made right off of her. "It'll pass, all of this." He told her with as much certainty as he could manage, because he had to believe it would. This place could be insane but it wasn't entirely cruel. They just had to wait it out.

John frowned over the concept of it being an ouch more than a discomfort or just something that they couldn't physically do. It was possible that she was just more susceptible to magic? It was something that he filed away for the future -- something he'd have to actually test out his theory on. Today wasn't for that -- even he was bloody goddamned tired of magic right now.

Not that he wasn't usually, but this was in a different sort of way.

"Avoid that," he said, echoing Peter in a very unhelpful manner. Because obvious advice was better when given from two white men. Obviously.

"Most things pass here," he noted. "I won't take it any differently than being the a teenaged terror that other time." He glanced at each of them in turn. "N' then we close the bar for a week and tell people to deal with their own health problems and stay in doing whatever we like, yeah?"
