WHO: Everyone who wants to drown their sorrows or something
WHAT: Getting drunk about it
WHERE: The Spider-Web
WHEN: Today

Sure waking up to find that he was for some reason attached to a wizard nearly half his age hadn't been on the top ten best ways to start his day list that Peter most certainly did not keep somewhere in the back of his mind, it hadn't actually been on the top ten worst ways to start his day list either. So that was something to consider. Not that it made it any easier to deal with knowing that for some strange reason he found himself tethered to Sirius, things had gotten very strange very quickly, and considering his history with strange well - Peter thought he was handling the whole thing admirably.

Tonight though, well they were at the bar, because even tied together like this people still needed to eat and Peter wasn't about to just throw all of this away because he was mildly inconvenienced. So he was doing his best, passing out drinks and making food and hoping that at the very least, they could all just spend a little time there that evening and pretend like things weren't entirely fucked.

"Nothing like a couple of drinks and something good to eat to at least help make you feel like things aren't quite as bad as they might seem." And certainly he'd lucked out he thought, but like John had said, things could always be worse.

The fact that it was mostly a double edged sword was kind of helpful. If Steve had been unattached to someone, Tony (the younger) would have had to deal with a lot more hanger ons than just Tony. But everyone was stuck to someone and unless they all planned on just hanging out in one room all the time (like now) there was no really good way to wrangle getting everyone around them that they wanted. So they just had to go on their own for a while.

"Right. it's not undoable, but there's gonna be some tugging and complaining. Let's make this easy as it can be, huh?" He wasn't really sure who Tony might want to see, if he was being honest. They didn't talk enough, the two of them, even after being stuck together all week. He wasn't sure who Tony called his own. The weird little Loki, maybe. He'd seen them being chummy before, strange as that was.

He raised his glass in silent cheers before tipping it back a little more quickly than he normally might - but sometimes needs must. "You know," he said after a beat. "Technically we could remote pilot our suits to do pretty much anything we needed without having to get up. It's not exactly the same but..."

Tony nodded, yeah he wasn't really about making things more difficult than they needed to be. Well no that wasn't totally true, he made things more difficult for himself plenty of times, but he didn't want to do that for everyone else, so yeah he and Tony could get things figured out. They'd make it work, maybe Loki would be there, he could say hi, catch up with him make sure he wasn't actually murdering whoever had managed to unluckily get themselves attacked to him. Because sure, Tony loved Loki, but he knew that he could be a little stabby.

But yeah, they'd figure it out for now though there was a drink and that seemed like a great idea after everything.

"I suppose we could," He agreed with a huff and a shake of his head, "It'd get boring after a while though. I mean it's cool for a while, don't get me wrong but then..." He trailed off and shrugged. Sure he liked designing things that worked, and he saw the benefit of using the suit for something like that, but Tony liked being in the midst of things. Whether it was something silly or a fight or anything in between. "Might be kind of useful at times like this though, not sure how much Steve would appreciate the suit as a stand in for you though." He teased.

"Right, obviously being there is optimal, most of the time," Tony agreed. At least, for most things. Like the other littler version of himself, Tony was pretty hands on about everything. But he'd used the suit before to his advantage when he double booked, or something just came up that needed his attention.

Tony considered the teasing though, rubbing at his goatee with an expression that was, possibly, just a little too thoughtful. He didn't necessarily think Steve would hate the idea, if other options were limited. That still didn't solve the other people around problem though. "Yeah," he decided after a beat. "probably not too much." HE said it more to save poor Tony from having to consider the actual list of pros versus cons though. Because, well. It was a bit awkward.

"Right, I mean the suit is like a part of me, but I'm a part of it too. So it's kind of weird sending it out on its own." Sure he got that sometimes it was necessary and that there were some situations where maybe it would even be down right important to have that option, but for the most part Tony wanted to be inside it if the suit was going somewhere for him, he wanted to be a part of it because that's just the way things were.

He had a beat where he was certain that Tony the older was thinking something he probably didn't want to know, or maybe he did, but would die if he actually heard it so he was glad that rather than continuing to wear his thoughtful face Tony instead agreed and moved them past it. "Steve, my Steve didn't love the suit that much, well maybe he did - I don't know it was hard to say at times, I think he liked what it was you know," He explained starting to ramble a little bit, "The future and all that, and that it was cool because I mean, obviously it's cool, but I don't think he always liked it either." He wondered if that was something Tony felt too, or if things were different there too.

He'd been doing his best not to think too much of Steve since he'd been sent back home, because well - it would just be one more disappointment, and well he still had friends here so it was fine, but sometimes those thoughts came up sudden and strong and he couldn't help but think them. Like right now.

"I get you," Tony said, although he was getting the feeling that it was maybe something he did more than the younger version of himself. It'd been nice, back in the real world, to multitask so completely. Then again, he'd also very much been looking for every possible distraction he could find -- what better way than to challenge himself to do more than one thing in several different places in the world?

He listened though, when Tony talked, because it sort of seemed like something maybe the kid needed to get off of his chest. Tony couldn't blame him. If the two of them were anything alike, Steve was an important person to them both. He was a little sad nothing had worked out for the younger version of himself in that regard.

Then again, Tony could honestly say he hadn't much liked that version of Steve. He couldn't really say why, though.

"Maybe also because it was the future," Tony said, not unkindly. "A double edged sword. Steve -- mine. Well. It protects us. He'd like it for no other reason than that, if a choice had to be made."
