WHO: Everyone who wants to drown their sorrows or something
WHAT: Getting drunk about it
WHERE: The Spider-Web
WHEN: Today

Sure waking up to find that he was for some reason attached to a wizard nearly half his age hadn't been on the top ten best ways to start his day list that Peter most certainly did not keep somewhere in the back of his mind, it hadn't actually been on the top ten worst ways to start his day list either. So that was something to consider. Not that it made it any easier to deal with knowing that for some strange reason he found himself tethered to Sirius, things had gotten very strange very quickly, and considering his history with strange well - Peter thought he was handling the whole thing admirably.

Tonight though, well they were at the bar, because even tied together like this people still needed to eat and Peter wasn't about to just throw all of this away because he was mildly inconvenienced. So he was doing his best, passing out drinks and making food and hoping that at the very least, they could all just spend a little time there that evening and pretend like things weren't entirely fucked.

"Nothing like a couple of drinks and something good to eat to at least help make you feel like things aren't quite as bad as they might seem." And certainly he'd lucked out he thought, but like John had said, things could always be worse.

He'd gotten off pretty easily. Sure, Sirius was prone to bouts of wild energy followed up by some pretty extreme pouting sometimes, particularly when Remus wasn't there to deter such things. But for the most part, he'd tried keeping it light, tried making things fun. And he'd tried being helpful, because that made time go by quicker.

"Not this," Sirius said, pulling a face and waving his hand dismissively. "No offense, mate, but like, I don't want to be stuck to anyone this close at all." Not even Remus, although he suspected he and Remus would have been a bit better at making the most of it. A week spent in bed with Remus wasn't any kind of hardship, after all. "But the --this. With the drinks and the food. S'kinda fun. Maybe I will show up a bit more. Can't believe you muggles and how you have to suffer through dish washing. Honestly."

Peter chuckled and nodded, "Trust me, none taken." He agreed easily and whole-heartedly. Peter didn't really think of himself as the sort of person who necessarily minded people being close, but it wasn't really something he was eager for either, unless of course those people were in the shape of Claire or John, he made exceptions to the pair of them as often and as eagerly as possible. But in general? Well Peter liked some space thank you very much. So yeah, this thing was not his favorite, and so there was absolutely no love lost when Sirius confided that he didn't want to be stuck to anyone like this at all.

"Yeah it's not too bad," He agreed, he didn't know about fun, well no - that wasn't fair. He wouldn't still be doing this if it wasn't just a little bit fun. And it was. He had a good time with it, and he liked being helpful where he could. So if Sirius wanted to come around and help well he'd be happy to have him.

"You're more than welcome to come around and do some sort of spell for dish washing whenever you want." He promised with a laugh. "Or do it the -did you say muggle? - the muggle way if you really want to get a feel for it."

Sirius suspected that everyone that ran a business in Starklandia must at least sort of be enjoying it, seeing as no one got any sort of financial gain out of it and had to spend plenty of long hours getting things to run smoothly. It wasn't as if the liquor and food stocked themselves, after all -- although, Sirius had fixed a few duplicating charms in place this week, in order to keep things from running down at any real pace.

Maybe fun was pushing it, a little. Menial work was always a little, well, menial. But it was a good way to stay occupied and busy on days that this place started feeling a little boring.

"Muggle," Sirius agreed with a grin. He tried not doing too much in the way of lingo from his own world, but sometimes things just slipped out and it couldn't be helped. "There are some who're pretty good at cooking with magic too," he noted thoughtfully. Sirius wasn't one of those people though, had never gotten the hang of it. Probably because he'd never had to learn. Cooking for himself had seemed laughable when he'd been younger, after all. That's what the Elves were for.

And now, if he was being honest, he sort of liked trying it out the muggle way instead. It was a bit more satisfying to see the work done. "How do you do it alone?" He asked, curious. "Never take a night off?"

"Yeah? Cooking with magic?" Peter asked, curious about it even if magic wasn't really his sort of thing. Sure he could appreciate it, there was plenty of good and decent magic out there in the world, but in fairness to himself he'd had a lot of not great run-ins with magic in his time too. But things were different where Sirius was from so he could be curious about that. "I'm picturing something like that scene in Sleepy Beauty, dancing cups and eggs that crack themselves?" He guessed.

He didn't think that'd be the sort of magic he'd mind too terribly much if it got the job done, a little like washing the dishes with magic after all. But sometimes you just wanted to be certain what it was you were getting yourself into even in a totally fictional sort of scenario.

"Well it's not always me alone, there was Carol for a while - but I'll tell ya, she was much better at drinking and then hiding away at the end of the night than she really was at running anything. But people help out, Nyx and John sometimes, and a few others come and go. But it's not too bad, and you know not everyone can cook for themselves, so maybe it's not what I did back home but it's still looking after the neighborhood in a way, and that's kind of my thing." As for a night off, he shrugged. "I take some time every now and again when I am certain things will be covered here, I'm lucky in that I've managed to find some incredibly understanding people too who don't mind my staying out late when I'm here too." He added.

"In what?" Sirius asked, because he had no idea what Sleeping Beauty was. But it sounded about right, getting eggs to crack on their own -- he wasn't so sure about dancing cups though. Even if he could make it happen, it seemed a little silly. He nodded anyway, forever enthusiastic.

"She did seem to like to drink," Sirius noted, not exactly judging but ... well. He hadn't made friends with her when she was around, so he supposed maybe it was a little judging. She'd been sort of... messy. " Oh well. Not anyone's problem anymore, he reckoned. "I'll help out some," he decided. "Help is nice, but a full day off now and again is a pleasure, y'know? And I think I've figured out the most of your menu by now." Plus people who couldn't cook for themselves didn't have the right to be too choosy on some days. That was the rule.
