The Tony Awards.
"I get you," Tony said, although he was getting the feeling that it was maybe something he did more than the younger version of himself. It'd been nice, back in the real world, to multitask so completely. Then again, he'd also very much been looking for every possible distraction he could find -- what better way than to challenge himself to do more than one thing in several different places in the world?
He listened though, when Tony talked, because it sort of seemed like something maybe the kid needed to get off of his chest. Tony couldn't blame him. If the two of them were anything alike, Steve was an important person to them both. He was a little sad nothing had worked out for the younger version of himself in that regard.
Then again, Tony could honestly say he hadn't much liked that version of Steve. He couldn't really say why, though.
"Maybe also because it was the future," Tony said, not unkindly. "A double edged sword. Steve -- mine. Well. It protects us. He'd like it for no other reason than that, if a choice had to be made."
