From what Steve had seen no one was exactly the same and that was reassuring. He didn't want to meet his identical, but who'd lived differently to him. Worse or better off it wouldn't matter, it would be difficult and he'd rather not. Maybe other people from other places he could deal with, it wasn't like he had much of a choice after all. Plus a young Tony Stark would be interesting at least. "At least then we get to keep a few secrets, huh?"
It was complicated, he and Tony, which stung when he thought on it too long. It hadn't been before. It had been simple before Steve had gone and betrayed that trust. The wrong thing for the right reasons was still wrong and the more time he'd had the less sure he was it had ever been for the right reasons. Simply an effort to spare him pain, when he'd only gone and made it worse. The least he could do was be loyal now.
A grin spread across his face as Tony stumbled a little with his words. It was endearing, a whole lot less world ending than Steve was used to. "So you and the other Steve then, huh?" He asked, although it was more phrased as a statement than a question as he pulled his shirt on.
