This wasn't the Tony Stark he knew, he was far younger and even then Steve didn't feel like this was a young version of him. He was different, somehow kind of softer at the edges. Like what Tony might have been if life hadn't been quite so cruel. But there was a certain thin about him, it wasn't like meeting a stranger.
"Not just your name but your story," Steve pointed out. The Steve that was here was still Captain America, still lost in time and maybe they'd have to talk about that, seeing as they were the only two people who really knew what that was like. "But I suppose a different life makes a different man in the long run."
He raised his eyebrows at Tony's comment before rocking slowly back on his heels. "I mean I didn't think you were lurking around people's courtyards, no," Steve said. It was sweet really, because his Tony would have pretended now to be effected at all, a dry joke and on with the next thing.
