Who: Stan and Octane
What: The tethering has begun
When: Morning of the 20th
Where: The kitchen

Stan wouldn't have ever called himself a morning person, though that didn't mean he wasn't usually one of the first ones up out of bed in the Losers house, making coffee and figuring out what it was he was going to be able to manage for breakfast that morning, maybe standing at the window hoping to see some new or interesting bird. He didn't have his books here, so that he could study them and name the birds he saw whenever he did checking them off and keeping a list, but he still had a pretty good knack for such things even without them.

And so that was how he'd planned for his morning to start, everyone one else was still sleeping and the house was quiet for the moment so Stan was having his coffee and watching at the window waiting for something.

That something did come - though it was not what he'd expected, there was a sound from behind him and the hairs stood on the back of his neck and despite how much Stan didn't want to look he forced himself to turn around, knowing that even when you didn't want to look at a nightmare it could still kill you - better to face it than let whatever it was attack him from behind. So he turned carefully shoulders drawn up around his shoulders seeing a man there, "What the fuck," He breathed out the words softly, not sure what to make of him but knowing for absolutely certain he wasn't someone who belonged there in his kitchen.

Yes, there was agreement. Octavio much would have rather be more dressed than the bare minimal of the towel he was wearing. That would have had less risk of showing the world his world starred goods. Regardless, the brushing of his teeth was enough for him to get his wits about him and come up with something that resembled a sentence to this other guy.

"Oh yes! Yes, yes, yes." He nodded as if he knew it all along. "Richie. The tall drink marrying the other guy." A quiet curse under his breath while he thought of the name. "EDDIE!" Pointing at Stan, as if he was also having issues remembering the man's name. "Right. I'm there. I-" And Octane shut his yap to hear Stan.

So this guy wasn't the one who ripped him from his bathroom. In fact, he thought Octane abandoned his bathroom to do his business in their kitchen. That was odd way to think about it. Of course, it became clear that Stan was now assuming the only logical answer to his situation was because he had no bathroom. That was just silly. "Amigo, I have a bathroom." Waving his toothbrush about. "I was brought here by you." Leaning in. "It must be the power of..." He let it simmer a little.

"FRIENDSHIP!" Octane shouted with a great big excited cheer, before closing the distance between him and Stan. Wrapping the arm around Stan that still held his toothbrush, Octavio was excited. "You see, obviously needed a friend like me." Holding out his free hand as if painting a picture. "Stan and Octane.." He paused, before starting over. "Octane and Stan, best friends forever. Adventures, shenanigans, and death defying stunts!" As if it was fated. "You wait here, amigo." Octane state while walking towards where he remember the door being before feeling a taunt line stopping him. "Hnng." Was the noise he made before turning back to Stan.

"Qué?" Tugging his body in a direction against the strain of a invisible tether. "Por qué?" He said more to himself than to Stan.

"No," Stan said plaintively shaking his head, "No, no, no, no, no - because if you had a bathroom you would be in it with your toothbrush and your towel and not here in my kitchen," He said it like it was the most logical thing in the world because it was the best he had at this point, he didn't know why or how or when but this was how it made sense, Octane had ended up in his house because he had not bathroom and it was tragic but this could not go on.

But Octane was there, throwing an arm around him and declaring that it had been the power of friendship that had done this, and Stan wore a look on his face that said everything that he wasn't just yet about how much he believed in something like that. Sure maybe if it was Richie or Eddie or Bev here suddenly with no explanation, not that any of them needed an explanation to be here, but that wasn't the point, the point was Stan didn't have the first clue what was going on and he felt like reality was shifting just a little bit, and it was making his head hurt trying to make sense of it.

"Wait, no - there are no death defying stunts, I've done enough of those in my life." He said shrugging out of Octanes grasp, thankfully his new maybe sort of friend was going to do the best thing ever and that was go home, or at least go somewhere else for a little while. Right up until he wasn't.

Stan felt it too, that tug when Octane tried to leave, like it was pulling at him to follow, but he wasn't moving and so they both seemed to be stuck and his eyes went wide looking down like he might see something tying them together only to see nothing at all. "Oh do not ask me that." He said groaning, "You think I have any answers for this?" He scoffed. "I'm just trying to have my coffee not be held hostage by a guy in a towel."

"Yes," He followed after the no. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes - for I was in said bathroom brushing these sweet bad boys," He presented his gorgeous smile to the man. "And I was very happy being in my bathroom up to the point I wasn't." Octane pointed down at the ground. "Which was when I ended up here.

Letting Stan shrug away from him and his loving hold, how disappointing, but he'd continue on. "Now now. "Friendship is what literally makes everything better. Makes it great." Gasping at Stan, Octavio put his hands on his own cheeks shocked. "DO YOU NOT WANT TO BE MY FRIEND?!" It was be a shame. The worst really, because Octavio really thought he was pretty great. "We can do all sorts of things. Like movies, dancing, eating pizza..." He trailed off like the thoughts in his mind suddenly faltered as he wasn't thinking about the current situation. Looking back to Stan he looked him up and down.

"Enough death defying stunts." Waving a dismissive hand. "Come now, you're in one piece, there is a limb to be lost still." He teased by patting his metal legs. "I lost my originals doing the Gauntlet. Used a grenade. Got the best clearance time of twelve seconds." He sound off proudly. "You look fit! I bet you could get close to it!" Octane laughed as he tugged himself back, now wanting to experiment.

"This is weird." Octavio said softly before looking up. "Whoa. WHOA. I ain't holding you hostage, amigo." Shaking his head. "If anything, you're holding me hostage like some sort of a pervert." The counter was asinine and he knew it, but he'd flip it. "How could I hold you hostage, little ole me in a towel." As if bashful he turned from Stan. "But. Okay. Hold onto the counter.." He smirked while doing a squat or two despite being in a towel. "Lets try.. THIS!" He sprinted in a direction suddenly hoping Stan was holding onto something, regardless he hit a point where the invisible line attaching him to Stan went taunt, hurt like a son of a bitch, and pulled Octane clear off his feet to the ground - losing his towel and all for the world to see.

Stunned and on his back, Octavio groaned. "Dios mio. That hurt.."

Stan looked a little green when Octane told him about losing his limbs and how he had some to spare, bad memories floating back up to the surface of his mind as he talked about grenades and clearance times. No, Stan was definitely not going to do anything that might result in loss of limb, he'd come near enough to that once and it had been more than enough. "Ah no, no I'm not fit at all, you'd have to talk to someone else about doing something like that." He assured him, just so there would be no misunderstandings in time, he didn't want to end up finding a grenade at his feet or something because Octane had misunderstood.

"Excuse-" Stan started and stopped, as he was called a pervert, just long enough for Octane to suggest he hold on to the counter. He didn't know what he was planning, but when he took off Stan planted his feet firmly and gripped the counter, wincing and giving a shout at the sudden pain he felt as Octane was stopped, like he was on the other end of a rope tied at Stan's waist or something.

"Jeeze, what'd you have to go and do a thing like that for," Stan complained and then groaned when he realized the towel was gone.

Averting his eyes he moved then, stepping closer and grabbing the towel between two fingers and tossing it over Octane so he might maintain at least a small amount of modesty in these trying times. "How about we don't do that again and try to figure this out instead." He suggested, "You know without the stunts."

In fairness, Octane was just talking nonsense. He was well aware that he was a special case in the sense of how he utilized a grenade in that stunt. If it wasn't for Ajay, he'd still be being called Stumpy by all the people in the hospital. He was lucky. With the stammering of Stan, Octane laughed and shook his head. "Amigo, I'm fucking with you." With a roll of his eyes he went about his stunt, which landed him on his back.

Groaning more Octane gathered his senses while standing up. That wasn't what he was expecting. "Well, we didn't know what it'd do." He shrugged as he shook his head rubbing right above his pelvic bone. It was like there was a hook that had caught and connected with the other man. Then his eyes went to the towel being held out.

"Oh right.." He took the towel but didn't quite rush to cover himself up. "What did you feel?" He asked quick but then expressed the feeling he had. Between the tightness and the yank - the sharp pain. "You think it has something to do with this place? The weird things that happen?

Catching the look on Stan's face, he looked down and realized he was still just standing there not covering himself. "Oof. My bad." The towel was placed back around his waist.

Just what Stan needed really, someone who was going to fuck with him. God he should not have gotten out of bed that morning if this was how the day was going to end up. He wasn't prepared for this in the slightest and no amount of sleeping in would have helped.

And couple that with the sharp sort of not quite pain not quite not pain of something like a tie around his waist keeping the two of them near one another, well Stan wanted to press a reset button thanks. "I had a pretty good idea it wasn't going to do what you hoped it would!" Stan protested, maybe he hadn't known for sure but he knew enough that he wouldn't have wanted to test it.

"It better have something to do with this place." Stan didn't know for certain what it was, but he didn't want to think what it might be otherwise, this place had made them all go on crazy trips last month why couldn't it do something like this now? And if it was this place then that meant it wouldn't be forever right? It couldn't be forever, Stan didn't think he'd last that long if it was.

He'd long since averted his eyes before Octane was putting the towel back around his waist, but he still couldn't help rolling his eyes when he got a sort of apology for it. This was not how his morning was supposed to be going. "Look let's just.... let's just find you something to wear and then we can try and figure this out."

Well, to Octane's defense, really, he would fuck with anyone of the lot. It was just in his playful nature, and was purely harmless! Mostly. Kinda. Something.

"Well, you should of said something. We don't know what it's going to do or not do. It's just a thing that is happening. For all we know it could of snapped and we would of been free!" A smirk on his face, he looked past Stan. "Lets try that direction." He pointed, and then started running again - before sliding to a stop. "Just kidding!" Octane offered a smile to try and break the tension some. "Look, my man." He started. "I apologize," He shrugged. He wasn't sure if he was apologizing for what he did, or the week Stan was about to have.

"It'd have to." Octane commented on the whole magic thing. "This place is weird enough to cause it." Octane thumbed towards their front door. "Look, we can just head to my place. I have clothes." He paused a minute. "And you can indeed see I have a bathroom too."

"Or it could have severed you or me or both of us!" Stan countered. It wasn't like he didn't take risks.... well okay maybe risks was a little extreme, Stan did things impulsively at times, but he always was aware of what the potential outcome might be, he didn't just shoot the shit and see where the chips landed. It wasn't how he worked, he didn't know how to function like that. He enjoyed order, he liked routine, it was part of why he was so good with numbers they always had an order, there was always a way to figure them out you just had to make sense of the order.

But it was becoming painfully obvious that Octane had no order to him, he was all over the place even when he was attempting to sound reasonable for just a moment. Stan practically winced when he feigned running a second time only to pull up short and claim kidding.

"It's fine," He said with a sigh, "It's fine, we'll figure this out and then we'll get rid of it and everything will be fine." And Stan absolutely was not even going to begin to entertain the idea that they might not be able to get rid of it.

But clothes first okay, clothes were necessary, he wasn't about to follow around a guy in a towel all day. "Yeah okay, let me just... shoes." He said after a moment, and a jacket too, because well it was cold out. After he grabbed what he needed he nodded, "Okay, let's go see this bathroom of yours, I don't think I actually believe it exists."

"Nooooooooooo." Octane defended against the claim, as if that alone was just all that was needed, but followed up with. "That's not how any of that works." And just like that Octavio dismissed the whole thought with a wave of his hand. "Truth be told, I can't be lying about it." And when he received something resembling a look of disbelief, he was prompt with. "I can't be lying, my pants ain't on fire, amigo!" Yup. Pure, sound, brilliant, logic.

When it came to Octavio, there was order to him as long as you looked carefully for it. Sure in this situation, you might miss where that order might be, but he had a track record of being very tactically sound during the games. The thing that Stan was looking for was, he just had little regard for his own safety.

After all, you missed 100% of the shots you didn't take.

"Lets go." With that, the Octane stepped right out into the snow and cold, and it was immediate in his response. "Dios mio, hace jodidamente frio. Creo que mis bolas volvieron a mi cuerpo." Which was followed by a number of curses as he wrapped his arms around his own body. "Lets goooo!" Octane said as he pushed forward more quickly with not much care if he was yanking Stan with - he was clothed.

Once they got to their place, he quickly opened the door and patted his body to get his blood pumping. "That was unpleasant.." He muttered while walking towards his bedroom discarding his towel along the way. Once clothed in something that resembled normal Octane then took point to show the fabled bathroom.

"YES!" He proclaimed! "Bathroom, puta." And he made motion as if he was dropping a mic.

Stan didn't have to speak Spanish to understand most of what Octane said when they stepped out into the cold together, he had a jacket on himself and he still felt the bite of the cold, but there was Octane in nothing more than a towel, "Hey slow down!" He grumbled as Octane practically dragged him down the lane after him.

Thankfully it was not too far a trip to be dragged along, before they were inside the house that Octane had claimed for himself. It was strange to be in someone else's home. He hadn't actually been to any of the other homes since he'd arrived, feeling quite happy to stay with the Losers and no where else since he'd shown up naked and alone that night months ago now.

But there he was now, inside Octane's place, and it seemed that after getting dressed showing off his bathroom seemed to be the next most pressing issue on Octane's mind. "Yes sure, I see you've got one - still doesn't explain any of this." He said with a sigh shaking his head and rubbing two fingers at his temple trying to will away what he felt was the start of a headache building up behind his eyes.

"So what are we going to do about this? Because as fun," he said the word doubtfully, like he was entirely unconvinced of the truth of it despite using it himself, " this morning has been, it's not really how I like to start my days." Bev would be getting up soon too, and Richie and Eddie and here he was in some other person's house and not with them where he was supposed to be.

It was easy enough. Any male would understand exactly what he was feeling. When his outside man bits, became inside man bits, it was shocking - so where Stan wanted Octane to slow down? He didn't, not even a little.

Once inside, the warmth was beautiful The house was a mess, in a more disorganized fashion. Between Octane tinkering with jump pads that he could place that would launch him through the air, or even the chemist equipment on the dining table that he was making whatever he was working on, he had been keeping himself busy. Especially trying to make a replicated version of his Stim so he didn't run out. Regardless, he had stuff everywhere.

"This?" Octane muttered as he looked down at himself then to Stan. "I guess, we find out if we're the only ones, or if there are more." He shrugged a bit while tugging Stan towards the chaotic mess of the kitchen. "I'm not sure what any of this is about to be honest. Like I said. Was brushing teeth - then was in your kitchen." Octane shuffled things about before uncovering the canister of instant coffee. "AHA!" He shouted while getting a couple mugs.

Preparing the coffee for himself and his much more put together friend, Octane kept talking. "I think we're likely not alone. Think about it," Taking a moment he looked to Stan specifically. "This place is hella weird and does just as hella weird things, like giving me a basement full of trampolines and activities." Octane held out a cup of the cheap and likely too hot cup of basic coffee to Stan.

"I'm banking we're stuck like this for a bit..." Octavio smiled to Stan. "This is going to be literally so cool. We get to become really awesome bffs."

Stan sighed, Octane was probably right, they probably weren't the only ones but they should figure that out before they moved on from this, knowing his luck though it'd just be him for some reason and then he'd just have to make peace with the idea that he was going to have to figure out how to wrangle this guy who had way too much energy for so early in the day already. Maybe he could talk to Eddie about that, Richie was a ball of energy after all and he seemed to handle it well enough.

"You're probably right," He admitted unhappily, not because he didn't want Octane to be right so much as he just didn't love the idea of living in a place that could just do this to people for some reason and not explain any of it. "What bothers me most is that there's no explanation, there has to be a reason for it, don't you think?" He asked not really expecting an answer, though he nodded his thanks when Octane handed him a cup of coffee, even if it was instant it was better than no coffee. "Things like this? They don't just happen for no reason and with no sort of plan in mind." Stan needed to believe there was some sort of plan at work here. Even if he didn't like the plan that there was one felt important for him to know and understand.

And though he was dreading the idea of being stuck like this with Octane for a while he didn't seem like a bad guy, over eager definitely, and like he might just wear Stan out before lunch definitely, but he didn't seem bad and that counted for something. "I don't know how cool it's going to be, but we'll figure it out."

"Oi." Octavio said firmly. "Just because there is just sometimes not an answer." The younger man shrugged at his own words. "Sometimes, there is just no rhyme or reason to the whys or why nots. It just is." Sipping on his coffee thoughtfully for a moment he glanced to Stan. "You just have the choice to complain about it, or move on with it the best you can."

With the hand holding his coffee he pointed at Stan. "Example. When I showed up I ran into Sirius. Gun in hand, ready to defend myself, but instead when I learned of the situation I had two choices really," A smirk on his face. "Shoot my boy Sirius right in the face, and not accept that I was here and fight against the grain or, accept that my situation has changed for whatever reason - make a bunch of snowballs, and whoop a whole lot of ass in a snowball fight." Sipping again on his coffee he shrugged once again. "I chose the later, because that was the much more entertaining situation - like now, we can either fight each other on it and look for answers or we can just accept this is the way of life for now and find a way to make it suck less."

Setting the coffee down, he smiled to Stan, that ridiculous smile of his. "I much rather make it an awesome experience!" To help drive his point, he ran in place for a moment. "Like, lets find something we can jump off of.." He smirked for a moment. "I'm kidding, but I'm starving. Can we get food at least."
