Who: Klaus and Bev
What: The tethering has begun
When: Morning of the 20th
Where: Bev's bedroom

Klaus went to bed late, as he always did wandering his way into bed sometime before the sun came up and falling into he with a low huff after he'd finished up whatever it was that had caught his attention for the night. And certainly it wasn't the same sort of manic schedule he'd kept back before he'd ended up in town, he was downright domesticated since he arrived here and gave up many of his vices. Not all of course, but a great many of the more fun ones.

And tonight was no different from his usual here, he'd stripped out of his clothes climbed in under the sheets and squirmed around until he'd passed out. Morning always came too quickly for his tastes of course, but it was made easier as he rolled over and toward a warm body beside him. Not unusual of course, Klaus found he shared his bed fairly often, whether it was Ben or Bill or maybe some other lucky towns person if he could manage it. T

hat he hadn't remembered going to sleep with anyone wasn't quite as important as the warmth of another body. And he pressed closer, breathing out softly and wrapping an arm around them drawing them nearer to him so that he might have another few minutes of sleep before he really had to wake up and start another day.

Klaus just grinned when she tossed some clothes to him, halting his planning of how he'd wear the sheet as a sort of toga on his walk home, already picturing himself with one end of it slung up over one arm in the crook of his elbow sauntering his way home from what was perhaps the least satisfying night out he'd had in a long time.

But it wasn't all bad, after all he'd woken up with Beverly who was still gorgeous even as they both tried to figure out how they'd ended up like that together. He sat up without worrying about whether things were covered or not pulling on first the shirt and then stepping into the sweat pants and pulling them up as he stood.

"Not even a kiss for the road?" He suggested with a grin and a leering sort of glance at her, teasing mostly - because he had a feeling there was absolutely no chance in hell. But it never hurt to ask.

Stretching, Klaus turned from side to side before he nodded. "Well it's been interesting, feel free to give me a call if you do ever want any of this," He waved vaguely toward the bed before he moved to leave, heading toward the door ready to get back home and into his own bed for a little bit more sleep, after all this excitement he thought he'd earned at least that much.

There was absolutely no chance in hell. It was almost one of those 'look into the camera like we're on the Office' moments, but Beverly was too baffled to even do that. "How can I call you when I don't have your number?" she deadpanned, in that soft, wind-chime voice - with only the slightest edge of sarcasm. The town was small enough, knowing her luck she'd run into him every time she went out from today until forever. However long she was supposed to remain.

As promised, she at least walked Klaus downstairs and to the front door - she heard Billie Holidog, who slept in her crate-house, awakening as well. So it'd soon be time to take her out and feed her. "Alright, well, it was nice meeting you?"

Bev unlocked and opened the front door, and it had been so long since she had anything close to anything resembling a one-nighter she had no idea or proper protocol but this didn't count because they hadn't done anything that people usually did when they took a guy home with them, so really, she wasn't sure how to classify this. Besides awkward.

Klaus clutched at his heart when she reminded him she didn't have his number, "I imagine you could just open your door and shout if you were ever desperate," He told her with a grin despite it all, "I'm sure the wind would carry it to me." But he wasn't all that worried about yeses or noes or anything else for that matter, this morning had been strange and it was fine if this was all it ever was. His very strange morning with Beverly. Sure that was fine.

But he followed along with her to the door once more, "Oh yes, an absolute pleasure meeting you." He agreed, "We'll have to try it again sometime." Less with the naked in bed part, but well a little bit of just talking? That'd suit Klaus just fine.

"Catch you around," He gave her a little wave, and then set out, walking out the door and then made it all of maybe three steps at most before he felt himself stopped, like there was someone tugging on the elastic of the sweatpants pulling him back, or keeping him from going further. He turned around to look at her and down at his waist and then back at her before he tried again, only to come up the same once more.

"You wouldn't happen to be a witch, would you?" He asked her. Guessing at the possible reasons for something like this, it had to be magic right? How else did he end up in her bed after going to sleep in his own, and whatever was keeping him there had to be related to all of that - and it was all magic. It had to be, where was Bill when he needed him, he was tempted to take his own advice and shout for Bill, maybe it'd actually work exactly the way that he'd told Beverly it would and Bill would hear him. Or maybe not. "Not that I'm not flattered by you wanting me around and all, but I'm a busy man, things to do, people to kiss, beds to get into and all that."

Okay, what?

Beverly had been all set to close the door and get on with her day, take the dog out, make breakfast, something - but she felt this zap, electricity skittering over her skin, and let out a yelp of an "ow!" after Klaus tried to leave. Did her startled shriek answer his question?

"No, I'm not a - what do you mean, beds to get into?" Of course he was a playboy. That just fucking figured. Not that she was judging, she didn't even know him, but still. Hopping from bed to bed often spoke of deeper issues and, well -

Nevermind. She wasn't his therapist. "I felt a zap when you tried to leave. But no, I'm not a witch. I don't have any powers at all," she said. Nope, plain vanilla human, that was her - she didn't think seeing the dark, dark future counted as a power, anyway. "Look, just come back inside so neither of us get hurt. I'll - scrounge up some breakfast and we can figure this out."

"That's what you're worried about?" Klaus scoffed when she focused on absolutely the wrong part of what he'd said, "Of course I've got beds to get into, you know mine back in my own house." Playboy would be overstating his current situation, that was entirely not the point at a moment like this.

He frowned though when she told him she wasn't a witch, despite their current predicament. "Yeah well - powers are overrated." He assured her, not that he didn't appreciate his new found magic, but he'd have probably been only too happy to trade all the powers in the world to have just to have been a regular person like so many people were.

Still he returned to the door when she urged him back, "Guess I'm not getting to go back to bed then," He scrubbed a hand against the back of his head, "But you mentioned breakfast, that is something I could stand to do." Sure it wouldn't be the kind of breakfast that he shared with Bill at times, but any breakfast was better than no breakfast, particularly if he wasn't sleeping.

"So if you're not a witch," He said with half a thought, "Maybe-" He frowned and shook his head, "Well this is probably beyond my own skill set, so no probably not that, but maybe it's some other kind of magic." He said thinking out loud.

If she had woken up next to a walking STD, of course she had a right to be concerned about it, Klaus, geez. "I'm worried about pretty much the entire situation, trust me," Beverly grumbled, heading back inside - and assuming Klaus was with her, because as they just saw, he couldn't simply fuck off without causing either of them discomfort.

But on the way to the kitchen, she stopped to let out Billie, who seemed thrilled with their new guest - guess Bev should have asked how Klaus was around dogs, but whatever. She was weirdly tethered to the guy, she didn't have to be hospitable. Billie was let out, Beverly fed her, and then grabbed the carton of eggs from the fridge to feed the humans.

"I'm hoping whatever it is, it's temporary," she said, popping bread into the toaster. "What is your skill set, then?"

"I should hope so, this is a pretty worrisome predicament we seem to find ourselves in." He agreed with a low huff, but followed her back into the house, not eager to further test the bounds of whatever it was that was keeping him there, maybe it was the house, maybe it was her, it was hard to say. Whatever the reason he wasn't going to start tugging at it just yet, let him get a little breakfast and awareness in him and then maybe he'd have a little fight in him.

And then there was a dog and well, Klaus did love dogs, he knelt down to give the little girl some love, scritching his fingers in behind her ears and grinning at her speaking soft little lovey doggy words that you only ever said to animals grinning.

"You and me both, life is going to be very interesting from here on out of this ends up being less than temporary." He said with a soft huff shaking his head. He didn't want to consider it, best to keep on hoping for a temporary end to this. "My skill set?" He grinned at her then, standing up once more and cocking a hip to lean against the counter-top. "Oh you know this and that, here in town it's mostly the procuring of goods. I'm learning a little magic though, nothing quite like this, but you know small stuff. Other than that-" He shrugged, the talking to the dead thing felt moot at this point, what with Ben being alive and there being no other ghosts in town, thank christ.

"Procuring of goods? You go through the doors a lot?" Beverly guessed, as she cracked eggs and mixed them to do some scrambling. She probably should have asked if Klaus was a vegan or something, but she assumed he'd have voiced displeasure if that was the case.

None of her friends were up yet, and she just had this feeling, a prickly one, an itch at the back of her skull - if this happened to her, did it happen to them too? Did they find themselves in another location entirely, weirdly connected to someone?

This town was something else, that was for sure. "I didn't know just anyone could learn magic." She sounded surprised when she said it - though maybe it was something to look into. In addition to whatever else she did around here; she tried to keep busy, because that saying about idle hands and the devil was sometimes true with her. Plus if she was busy it was easier to...not think about things. That she didn't want to think about. "But, you know - in case this spell or whatever has to wear off? I don't mind going through the doors with you. I assume you'd find that more exciting than sitting in the back of Van Dyne's with me, sewing couture."

"Most days," He agreed nodding, "I'm always bringing things back, whether it's just something interesting or something by request," He agreed after he had gotten to his feet again, watching her start on something to eat. "You ever need anything in particular, you just let me know and I'll bring it back for you." He gave her a small teasing grin and a wink for good measure.

He worried about Ben, and Bill, and even others, he hoped that they weren't having a bad go of it in all of this, maybe it was just a him and Beverly thing. Which would be strange no doubt, but something he liked the idea of better than an everybody thing.

"Well, I don't think just anyone can, Bill says I've always had it, I'm just figuring it out now." H explained with a shrug of his shoulders. "I guess magic is different where I'm from and where he's from." He added. "I don't know, I'm probably the last person in the world who should be trying to explain things like magic to anyone."

"We can go through if you want, or you can show me your couture, I'm always interesting in a bit of fashion." He added with a eager grin, Klaus might have shown up without any clothes at all, but he had an intense appreciation for beautiful clothes. At least his version of beautiful.

The bread popped up from the toaster and Beverly grabbed it, putting it on plates with portions of eggs - since dry toast sucked, she grabbed the jam from the fridge too. They'd need the protein from the eggs though, if they were going to deal with this particular brand of bullshit. Already she could feel a headache coming on, something throbbing at her temple.

"The guy who showed up naked is interested in fashion?" she teased. "Alright, well." She handed Klaus a plate, and surely they'd be eating a lot of meals together if this nonsense kept up. God, she hoped it wasn't permanent - how stupid would that be? The thought alone was enough to fill her with fear.

Everyone had assured her the town was safe when she first arrived, so, she'd still choose to believe it was just a 'fun' quirk and nothing more. "Eat up. Then I gotta check on my friends, and I'm sure you do too. And we can go to Van Dyne's, if you're sure you won't mind."

If nothing else, it would be an interesting day. Hopefully she'd survive it without resorting to murder.

"Just not sleep fashion," Klaus said with a grin as she teased. At least he didn't end up tied to someone boring. Well he was guessing that Beverly wasn't boring, she didn't seem boring yet, and she had a dog so that automatically made her less boring than she might have been without one. Add to that the fashion and well - color him interested.

He thanked her for the plate she handed over and nodded, "Gotta check on my brother at least, if luck holds out he's going to be just fine and dandy through all of this." Klaus said with a fond roll of his eyes, but he wanted to be certain all the same. And then there was Bill who he knew could handle himself just fine now matter what situation he ended up in, but like with Ben he wanted to see that too.

And then there was Van Dyne's he liked to pop in there from time to time and see what was up with it all, see what he might find that struck his fancy. Why shouldn't today be that day? "Nope, I won't mind at all, I haven't said hi to Gwen in a little while, who knows maybe she's got herself stuck on some one too, we can all bond over it."
