Who: Octavio Silva and Peter Parker (MCU).
What: Octane is bored.
Where: Around town.
When: Monday Evening.
Rating: Low.

This place was great in a lot of ways. It was like a vacation retreat. No fighting, other than the bickering of people not getting along which meant there was low chances of being shot at. There was all the needs you needed being met, like for example that there was food and drink to be had and Octane had the house with the coolest basement ever. Which Sirius coming over to jump was a blast. The people, they were all low key and incredible to be around. Even the grumpy ones. Plus the doors. The doors led to everywhere and anywhere. He had become very interested in the workings, but not a single person could decipher how the doors truly worked.

Now for the good, of course there was bad. Like he missed his friends terrible. Well, were they really friends? Some of them sure. Like Ajay. But the people he knew weren't here and that was sad. Then there was of course the fact that he couldn't leave. This place was a prison for all purpose, and that sucked. Of course that it was ultimately very dull here. Most people just lived their lives quietly here, helping each other and moving forward - which was fine, just insanely boring for the man nicknamed Octane.

So his day consisted of breakfast. Bouncing. Lunch. Bouncing. And then had to leave the house. He ran around town. Saw the Fjord, which was cool. Saw the hot spring, which was also cool. Saw the pool, which was not as cool. Then landed himself sitting on the roof of one of the shops (don't ask how he got up there) with a pie from good ole Pete and his bar. Stuffing his mouth full of the pizza, Octane groaned loudly. There just wasn't enough to do around these parts. Kicking his feet in his boredom he almost lost his placement on said roof before dropping the half a slice of pizza at the person below him.

"Oi! Look out!" Octane tried to save the person from becoming a casualty of pizza.

Peter was having one of his better days. He'd started tinkering around with some scraps and going over his webbing formulas - he wanted to make sure they were right, for when he finally scrounged up enough chemicals to make a batch. Maybe if he adds three parts carbon, and maybe something else to act as a precipitant, the rate of decay would slow down...

A zing goes through his senses a split second before someone yells a warning, and Peter dodges on instinct. The pizza splats facedown on the sidewalk, sauce going everywhere, including his sneakers. The real kicker, though, is that he wasn't quick enough to save the crumpled notepaper he'd been holding with the equations on it - that was also sacrificed to the cruel and capricious gods who allowed pizza to fall from the sky.

He never thought there'd be a downside to a hypothetically real Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, but here he stood corrected. For about half a second, Peter could genuinely believe food had just started falling from the sky. This was his reality.

Peter threw his hands up in the air and glanced up, spotting the figure on the roof. "Dude! Seriously?"

A few explicit words in a foreign language came from Octane's mouth as he saw that the half a slice almost hit the kid. "Amigo, you never know when the slice will come for you." He shrugged widely while looking down. "You shoulda caught it - it was perfectly good slice of pizza, my man." Giving a thumbs up he reached over into the box that held his pie and started chowing on it casually as if nothing had transpired.

Carefully he gauged the kid with his eyes. Sizing him up to determine if he was going to be a threat or not. Nah. Not a threat. He knew what a threat looked like. Caustic was a threat. That psychopath was insane. Watching while chewing on his slice he pointed at the kid with the pizza in his hand. "You hungry?" Octane nudged with his head. "I can kill this whole pie with ease," He laughed. "Doesn't mean I should!"

Kicking his legs more while leaning to watch how the kid responded stuffed the last of his slice into his yap.

"How is your defense 'constant vigilance'?" Peter wonders, mostly to himself, because the guy doesn't really seem that apologetic. Well, not beyond mourning the wasted slice - which, to be fair, should be criminal. Peter squinted up at him as the guy continued trucking through his pie with ease. "I wasn't expecting to have to catch sky pizza today, sorry."

Of course, the offer to share the food was a pleasant surprise, and not something Peter was expecting. His stomach growled of its own accord - hey, look, the pizza smelled great even from here, he had no control over it. "...what kind is it?"

His notes were a lost cause, splattered with sauce on the concrete, so Peter approached the side of the building the guy was perched on. He definitely didn't know this guy, and while he still hesitated before using his powers outside of his suit, there wasn't really a reason for a secret identity here.

"Look, mi amigo." Octane said pointing down at the kid. "You say constant vigilance is no defense, but if you had constant vigilance than you would have be aware of the slice of za coming down, and would have caught it and would have had a beautiful snack." There. The defense was laid out, as shaky as it was. "Ultimately, you're obviously ill prepared, and that isn't any fault of mine!" With a chuckle, Octane was carefree regarding the incident.

Well, carefree in the notion it happened, he was actually distraught regarding the fallen soldier on the ground below.

Once his new friend arrived on the roof, however he made it up, Octane didn't care really, he scooted a little to allow the new compatriot to join. "Help yourself. My main man Pete made it fresh. Incredible really. Just the greatest." Opening the box to reveal the pie covered in far too much cheese and way too much pepporoni Octane looked proud. "Eat up." Octane snatched up another slice, the cheese stretching before snapping.

"Dios mio!" And with that Octane shoved a huge bite into his mouth before continuing talking. "Myh neem ith Ochteevio." Swallowing his food he followed up with. "Most call me, Octane."

"If you had constant vigilance, you wouldn't have dropped the slice in the first place," Peter cocks his head at Octane - it is something of an irrefutable point, isn't it? The dude doesn't really seem care, though, continuing just as he was before on the rooftop, munching away.

It was weird to just start crawling up the side of the building bare-faced, but Peter did it anyway because really, what the hell, why not? Octane doesn't bat an eye at it, and Peter wonders if that's just normal wherever he's from, or if people in Starklandia just become entirely inured to this crap over time. The scent of the pizza - which is exquisite, by the way, even if it's not a perfect New York slice (What? He's from Queens, he's allowed to be a pizza snob) - is enough to relax Peter the rest of the way. Well, mostly.

"I'm Peter." Peter would offer his hand, but Octane's is covered in grease and the guy is sort of busy dealing with the massive bite he just took. Peter would hate to distract him from that. This is the guy he was trolling on the network a little while ago, Peter distantly recognizes, helping himself to a slice and folding it instinctively. "Parker. Peter Parker."

Octavio gasped loudly. "How dare you?!" Feigning insult, he continued. "I had a perfectly good hold of it, but you see these pizza creatures are might frisky." He frowned at the young man. "They saw an unsuspecting individual and just.." Octane made a fake pounce towards Peter while getting bolder in his words. "ATTACKED." Hold his finger up as if he came to an appropriate conclusion. "For, I had perfect vigilance. I was not attacked. I was the predator, not the prey."

As if the conversation was completed Octane stuffed an overly large bite right back in his face hole, completely unconcerned with in which manner Peter had come to join him on the roof. Honestly, it didn't matter. People were all different. Wraith and her void walking and Pathfinder being a robot. Octane dealt with all sorts of types and specialties.

Hell. His legs were biomechanical and not a bit fleshy. Everyone was different in a special way.

Talking at Peter with another mouthful, he realized he was doing it again. Swallowing the za in his mouth, Octane nodded. "Oh man. Another Peter. Are you in relation to the other Peter? I think that one is a Parker too. I'm still learning the people around her." Octane answered honestly.

"Are you implying pizza sentience?" Peter raised an eyebrow, more amused than annoyed. If he allowed himself to be annoyed about every weird thing that happened in his life, it would be exhausting. Peter snorted at Octane's theatrics and gestured to the pie. "Because that seems inhumane."

Yeah, honestly, there were more bizarre things that happened here everyday. This place was stranger than New York, and that was saying something. Still, he takes a seat on the edge of the roof - which doesn't have a bad view, come to think of it.

At least Octane had the wherewithal to swallow. Well, mostly. "So like, technically, he's me? We're the same person, sort of. From different universes, or whatever."

Peter takes his own enormous bite, sighing contentedly at the taste. May would kill him for eating his much pizza. "Apparently there are a bunch of us running around. Or there were, some of them left or...something. When did you get here?"

Looking to Peter, Octane simply shrugged. "Are you implying it's not?" Because what if it was? What if food like Pizza just didn't communicate in a method that allowed humans to understand? Of course, Octane really didn't particularly believe that notion, but who was he to deny the tomfoolery?

Looking out over the town, Octane sighed. It was a great view really. Nothing like what he had seen from space, or even in Kings Canyon, but the view would suffice in what he needed for now.

"That's weird." Octavio muttered through his bite into the slice of pizza. "I don't think people could handle another me." He simply stated matter of fact. "Some say I'm a lot all on my own." That though, that came with a laugh.

Glancing over, he shrugged softly. How long had he been here? He wasn't even sure. Lost track, and didn't even really care to know. "I lost track, honestly." Thinking he looked over. "When was the snowball fight?" Because that was exactly when he met Sirius and arrived.

"I'm just saying that if it was, we're eating something that's alive. It knows it's being consumed." Peter pointed out, though that didsn't seem to stop him from chewing his own slice. He's gotten into dumber arguments with Ned, this isn't totally unfamiliar territory. "And that's like, horrible. Imagine being eaten alive."

"Very weird." Peter snorted and glanced over at Octane - he found that way more believable than the sentient pizza thing. He was kind of a strange dude - not in a bad way, it just, y'know. "I guess you better hope your evil clone doesn't show up."

"I think...something like almost two months?" Peter blinked, trying to count backwards and remember. He couldn't fathom not remembering - it was a weird feeling, the guilt that came with staying here. Even though...technically it didn't matter? Nobody else seemed to have this problem. Maybe it was just Peter.

Without looking, Octane shrugged. "Have you never had oysters?" Looking over with a devious smile. "Because they're quite alive all the way up till you eat them." Wiuth that laid out, Octane took a great big bite of his slice. It was rare for Octane to have someone who engaged in his banter in such a way, but the kid seemed younger. That helped. Octavio just felt he was still a boy at heart.

Or just irresponsible and careless.
It was just the same wasn't it..?

Truly it didn't matter. "Look. Time flies. This is just a completely new and exciting adventure." Taking a deep breath of the air, he was grinning wide. "Sure, I'd like to go home, but I am just looking for the next rush. The next dangerous stunt. The next thing that gets my heart pumping, amigo." Taking a moment to think thoughtfully Octane frowned for the first time since their engagement. "We only have one life, so why take it so casually or pointlessly."

Then he broke out in a loud laugh and that Octane smile was back. "Besides! Here I'm not being shot at! That's a win!"

"I can honestly say I've never had oysters." Peter's nose wrinkles at the mental image - Ben was always the adventurous foodie, but may and Peter were agreed that they'd stick to...well, at the very least, not live seafood. Octopus, no thank you. "Like I said, wouldn't that be horrible?"

"That's...one way of looking at it." A lot of people seemed perfectly happy to be here, Octane included. Peter supposed there were worse places to end up - and to be fair, he wasn't getting shot at here either.

"Stunt? Are you like a stuntman, or something, where you come from?"

"Ohhhh," Octane Nudged Peter with his elbow firmly. "You're missing out. Suck one or forty of them bad boys down and you're having a good night. Absolutely delicious." Octane at this point was like done stuffing his face full of food. "Nah. Horrible is perspective. I think it's fiiine."

Kicking his feet he nodded. "Yeah you could say that. Was. Or something." Octavio shrugged at Peter. "I used to do stunts, and since I had completed the Gauntlet, I had only been participating in the Apex Games." He made a finger gun at Peter. "Hinting the being shot at. It's a big ole death match held on the outer ring planets. Very prestigious to become the Apex Champion."

"So I suppose I was stunt man, moved to Champion."

"That's a pretty wide margin dude." Peter couldn't help but snort, chewing on his mouthful thoughtfully. Shrimp was about as adventurous as he got, after that one time where the restaurant they were at had served them steamed, with the heads still on. He didn't really like his food looking at him, either.

"Did you - like, enter the Games willingly?" Peter asked, blinking in surprise. Octane was being totally flippant about it but that sounded uhhhhh....objectively terrible? Like, really terrible, actually. "What's the Gauntlet? I guess you're not from another Earth then, huh? Or, I mean, are you?"

"Such a pessimist!" Octane groaned. "For a kid who is getting free pizza, you're just such a downer." Octane feigned falling over. "Lighten up. Live a little. Eat strange things." He countered quite joyfully. "Really, if you think about it, life is far too short to really want to get all serious about it. Have the fun while you're sucking in air and not pushing up daisies."

Looking to Peter Octane nodded. "Sure did." As if there was any other reason. "Nothing gives you more of a rush than jumping out of a drop ship, landing, and finding a weapon and defending yourself to the death."

Of course he didn't know the Gauntlet. "It's an obstacle course where you have to get to the end, as fast as you can. With the help of a grenade, I was able to propel myself across the finish line. He patted his metal leg. "Ended up with these, but the crowd loved it."

"I'm not - I'm not a downer!" Peter made a face at Octane, polishing off his slice of pizza with gusto. He pokes at Octane's side when the guy falls over; he feels like he's justified with that. "Sometimes life gets serious on you whether you want it to or not, man."

And doesn't Peter, of all people, know it. Octane does have a point, though, contrary to what Peter thinks must be popular belief. He's been trying to "lighten up" ever since he got here but it's just - a lot, sometimes. So he tries not to think about it, and he thinks he's doing pretty well.

"It sounds like you're describing the Hunger Games," Peter snorted, raising an eyebrow at Octane. He seemed sincere enough, though. Which was kind of nuts.

"You..." Peter trails off and blinks. Blinks again. "...you blew off your legs to win?"
