Carol had been settling in alright. She'd met a few residents, but not all. It felt like people were scattered or busy with their own projects much of the time, and while the town was small, people generally kept to themselves if they were new. Which most of them were. But Carol wasn't one to shy away from people naturally. She wasn't exactly looking for friends, but it wasn't in her nature to sit still and twiddle her thumbs. She needed to be kept busy. Otherwise, she would go stir crazy.
Unfortunately for her, there wasn't much need for help at the moment and that just left her with two things to do. Sit and think (something which she wasn't a big fan of) or get out and do something. Right now, that something was a jog. Carol didn't exactly need to work out, but the physical activity helped her to clear her thoughts. And it was a good way to get to know her new surroundings. She'd even been lucky to get a pair of decent sweats from Jan (who somehow seemed to always have what she needed), so why not put them to good use?
She had decided to take the scenic route through the woods when she came across anyone else. But, there he was standing amongst the trees and seeming to be lost in some sort of thought. She slowed down, cocking her head and realizing after a moment who she was looking at. "Well if it isn't Captain America himself."
Carol would be kidding herself if she denied being just a little bit excited about having a childhood hero standing before her. Of course, she recognized him from the old movie reels and photos. But, she kept her cool on the outside as she walked over.
"Carol Danvers. We met on the communications system." She resisted the urge to salute, holding out a hand and hoping that would come across as somehow less awkward.
