Reddie
It really was entirely too late. Eddie was pretty sure he'd loved Richie the best from the moment they met. If Derry hadn't screwed them up so badly maybe the two of them would've been able to admit what they felt for each other sooner. If they hadn't had their memories of each other stolen maybe this proposal would've happened years ago, back when they were in their 20's and had a whole long future ahead of themselves instead of this stolen one in some weird pocket dimension. Whatever might have happened or should've happened if things had been different and life had been kind didn't really matter anymore. The past was what it was and there was no changing it. They just had to embrace what they had here and move forward. "Damnit. Guess I have to marry you." He teased
Of course Richie was going to cry. He was an emotional sap. Eddie wouldn't change that for the world either. He loved Richie.
There was also the fact that this moment was the sort of thing you were allowed to cry over. Eddie was doing his best but a few happy tears still managed to slip out. His lips still trembled with the effort not to sob. "Good? No..." He decided that good didn't even begin to describe the moment. It was far beyond that. Hell, it was beyond whatever silly little proposal he had imagined because, yes, he had imagined it once or twice. This was different. This was better. "Perfect." He murmured as he slipped on the ring.
He pulled Richie in for a quick kiss without worrying about any attention the two of them might receive for crying and kissing in front of the alcohol table. When he pulled back he smiled up at the comedian and took ahold of his hand. This had been a quiet affair, something just for them and that was perfect for Eddie but he knew Richie. He knew the other man wasn't usually quiet. He liked attention. He liked making a scene. Maybe they wouldn't make a scene but he was pretty sure they could compromise and Richie could get a little attention. "Come on..." He said, taking ahold of his hand and tugging him away from the drink table. "Let's go show off to our friends."
The rest of the night could be spent partying and telling anyone who would listen that the two of them were, finally, engaged.
